It's a modified touring version, atleast; I'd presume.

I would assume they could have a modified theme park resort version. Kind of the same thing as Blue Man Group. They had it at USJ right?

The Japan version cuts out an hour+ of content from Wicked. We are talking about Citywalk, not the theme parks.

And as for BMG, Is it a touring version? I thought it's a real version of it, and not the touring shows they have around the globe.

I always assumed BMG in Citywalk is a little different, I don't really know though. I would assume they could do pretty much the same sort of thing as the traveling version in Citywalk.

I would love an escape room experience. I'm obsessed with them and so far I'm undefeated.

As far as luxury bowling, it's a bowling alley that's better maintained than your typical AMF. The menu is more refined and you get laneside service from a server. That's really the gist of it. Nothing super elevated about it and it's not that much more expensive.

You know if they could build a nice theater and change the show out every 3-6 months they would not only give people something new to look forward to on repeat trips but give locals a reason to keep coming back and spending money on show tickets.

There's no such thing. The only thing that matters is what the contract says, there's no "Broadway Rules". An example is Avenue Q, they opened a show in Vegas with a strict no traveling clause. Once that show closed they could travel.

Lies.

Wicked is big enough that people aren't going to magically stop seeing it in NYC just because a version of it opened in the swamps. No such thing as "Broadway rules", it's just not common.

I.e rules. Most Broadway theatres with a hit will allow touring but no standing show in any other city within the same country. Do you see a standing show for Wicked in Chicago? No. Vegas. No.

Vegas had a no travel clause. Which means exclusive why? Because it limit peoples. Which is what I said in the original statement. The reasoning Gerswhin wouldn't want Orlando to have a standing show.

That really sounds more like a business practice than a rule. I mean it makes sense of course but everything has a price. Didn't Blast play at Epcot at the same time as it played on Broadway? I don't really see people cancelling a trip to NY to go see Wicked at Universal so to me I think it could be a win win. Not to mention surely Wicked isn't going to run on Broadway forever, seems like it's been a while now.

Do people make actual trips to New York for Broadway? I always just kinda figured it was locals and people who were already in town for other reasons.

I would think it would be a part of a trip but not a driving factor. You go to NY to see NY and throw in a Broadway show. Same would be true for going to Disney or Universal you're already there so if you can fit it in you throw in a show. I think there's less overall to do as a tourist in NY so adding a show is a more quintessential part of a visit, but I can't imagine anything more than a very slim margin of people plan a trip around a particular show. Even so anyone going to that extent to see Wicked has likely already seen it.

Yes, per Variety due to the inability to buy tickets in NYC due to it being always sold out and Chicago's bustling theatre scene.

Phantom of the Opera ran simultaneously on Broadway and as a condensed show in Vegas. There's no reason why Wicked couldn't do the same. Especially with the film version coming and the fact that it has been running to packed houses on Broadway and on tour for over a decade now. If anything, a condensed show would make people want to see the full show.

There are lots of special Broadway vacation charters departing every day in our Pittsburgh area. It's a really big thing in this part of the country. And though Pittsburgh has a very vibrant cultural area that has traveling shows all year round, the appetite for Broadway is extremely strong.

Not to mention the long run that's opening in LA later this year. Chicago isn't a permanent addition though.
