With 3 teenaged boys and one pre-teen girly, I am trying to find a "happy medium" for all of us. We will have time our first day to hang out at City Walk. My kids and I all love music and would like to see any of the shows and/or entertainment. We get City Passes with our Hotel, so I'm wondering at what point do you HAVE to be 21 and which places are best for us to go to?
Thanks:thumbs:

:welcome: to OU! Is this your first time to Universal? Hope you guys have a great time!

CityWalk can be pretty fun even to just walk around. You can always check out the stores and restaurants, and I think you're gonna enjoy looking around the Hard Rock Cafe if you're into music. They have tons of memorabilia and cool stuff all around. Don't be afraid to explore in there, even the second floor. They have all sorts of items and pictures all around. There's also some other different photo-ops around CityWalk, like a surf board and wave by the surf shop, a race car by NASCAR cafe, a Bob Marley statue by the Bob Marley restaurant, the airplane by Margaritaville... So lots of things to see all around. Do keep in mind that CityWalk is going through a remodel right now, so there will be some walls up here and there.

The CityWalk passes get you into the clubs cover free, but those are 21+. I don't know for sure, but Rising Star Karaoke might allow underage people escorted by an adult, but I'm not sure. As a general tip, your kids need to always be with an adult at CityWalk late at night, because security does not allow minors to be on their own after a certain time.

I'm not sure if it happens every night, but they have an open dance/party area down by the water with a music, lights, smoke, and a big video screen.

If you're also open to doing some things that are not free, the Hard Rock might have a concert happening, so check their schedule online. Blue Man Group is HIGHLY recommended if you like music, plus it's also a unique show that is really entertaining for all ages. You also have the mini golf, which again is really fun for all ages. And you have the movie theater, as well.

If you have any other questions, let us know!

If you do visit the Hard Rock Cafe, be sure to ask one of the store clerks for the VIP tour

Dueling Piano's at Pat O'Brien's is really cool if you are into music too. I have seen families in there, so there should be no issue bringing your kids in.

I looked it up and Rising Star does not seem to have a 21+ age limit based on Uni's website. So you should be good at that one too.

I thought I responded to this, but I guess the post didn't go through or I didn't. Rising Star has 18+ nights but nothing lower than that. Mon-Thurs it is 18+. Weekends it is 21+. It is fun and relatively tame, but not a place for minors.

Hmmmm....they should put that on the website, they had it on other clubs in CityWalk, I wonder why they don't put it under Rising Star.

I think it is because it is 18+. I agree that they should have the information on there though.

It probably depends on the season but I think this is weekends only; although the screen is always on, there doesn't seem to be anyone down there during the week around this time of year. It's fun when there are people there though and it creates a good vibe.

Teen Night @ the groove was discontinued in early 2012. All of their clubs are pretty much now 18+ or 21+ after 9pm.

Margaritavile however is an option for live entertainment for families of all ages.
