Hmmmm. I don't feel that I'm the best judge of potential musical acts, but I'll give it a go...

Potential costs and controversies aside, I think a potential musical artists list could include Slipknot, Metallica, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails, Ghost, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Lady Gaga, Melanie Martinez, My Chemical Romance.

Which artists could crack the top-40? NiN, Slipknot, Rammstein, Ghost, Martinez, A7X, Manson, and MCR ?

I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention Iron Maiden. :)

I think the only music artists that would (should) crack your Top 40 are artists that has routinely cracked the Weekly Top 40 in the last 30 years. That basically limits it to Gaga, Metallica, and MCR. That isn’t to say the other artists aren’t deserving or wouldn’t work, but in a comprehensive list that includes movies and TV, music artists will have a very small presence.

I have still yet to hear anyone mention Ghost outside of the HHN fandom.

Orlando did feature Lector (unofficially) in their 2006 house "All Nite Die-In: Take 2"

Buffalo Bill would be really tough right now. Would prefer they focus on the Hannibal show if they want their Lector rep, maybe with a small appearance by the iconic mask at the end.

I'd love to see some J-Horror for HHN:

1. The Ring
2. The Grudge
3. Pulse

I know it's unlikely but I still think an Alfred Hitchcock Presents or a Hitchcock"best of" (Psycho, The Birds, Vertigo) mash-up house would be really cool...especially if you could have some scenes in black & white. They've started selling "The Birds" merch around the parks and obviously we had the Psycho house and the Art of Making Movies show so not totally impossible...but I recognize it probably wouldn't have mass appeal today.

I always thought that that Panic at the Disco song is like the perfect ender for a house.

Swinging on back to a certain IP; I wonder if there could be a way to translate Scooby-Doo to be a house thatd work for HHN.

WB has been able to do serious-ish stories with Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated; and they also did the Scooby-Doo/Supernatural crossover. Mind suspects HHN could easily figure out a story that would have the gang in a more serious storyline befitting HHN.

If we’ve had IP like Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters, and Fortnitemares at the event; then why does the bar somehow stop at Scooby.

If I said Gremlins, there would be no complaints; but I don’t think it’s instinctually fair to automatically assume that Scooby-Doo is something WB doesn’t want at the event. I think the problem with Scooby—is that it would require you to make a big swing, and to do it in a way that suits HHN as much as it suits Scooby-Doo.

A original-IP wouldn’t be far fetched, if only because then you’d be able to have WB directly involved to make sure it doesn’t veer completely against what WB expects of Scooby (and keep in mind—this is the franchise with the biggest swing of misses in the past decade considering Scoob and Velma being two swings in two different directions that ended badly).

Hell, Velma and the Supernatural special are actually not bad comparisons in making the difference of what happens if you take Scooby in a direction that is somewhat more adult (and in the case of Velma; of what to avoid); and how it is affected in good and bad ways. I refuse to think they are simply “nah” about it.

I'm not saying Scooby can't be at HHN. I'm saying WB doesn't want it because they view HHN's horror as a bridge too far.

Everything you listed is adult-oriented, and kids just so happen to enjoy it.*

WB sees Scooby as a kids' show first, which adults happen to enjoy, and any adult version notoriously didn't include the main character. Some properties don't show up, or get stingy with how they're repped at HHN, because they didn't want to be associated with others. (i.e., remember how Ghostbusters wasn't on the house shirt in 2019?)

If you want Scooby, expect it at FFN.

*Fortnite is probably the youngest they've skewed, but that's more teen/high school age than kids.

I feel like there’s enough there to do a full John Carpenter event.

Halloween (obviously), Prince of Darkness, The Thing, Escape from NY/LA, Ghosts of Mars, The Ward, Vampires, The Fog, In the Mouth of Madness, and Big Trouble in Little China (with some creativity) all have house potential.

Throw in a possessed greaser scare zone (à la Vamp) based on Christine, a They Live zone, and Assault on Precinct 13 zone and you’ve almost got a wholly rounded event without having to stretch anyone’s imagination all that hard.
