Had an incredible run tonight in the brief time I was there. I just might prefer the NY S&S location this year. My times for the night to compare to opening night times in the quote:
  • Halloween: 5:37
  • Dead Man’s Pier: 5:56
  • Fiesta: 6:03
  • Blumhouse: 6:14
  • Bugs: 6:29
  • DoD: 6:45
  • Monsters: 7:15
  • The Weeknd: 7:44
  • Hellblock: 8:10

Halloween S&S is really looking like the GOAT method this year with how early it opens up. Had another great run tonight:
  • Halloween: 5:18
  • Coven: 5:37
  • Blumhouse: 5:52
  • Bugs: 6:06
  • DoD: 6:14
  • Monsters: 6:33
  • The Weeknd: 6:54
  • Hellblock: 7:18
  • Dead Man's Pier: 7:55
Halloween opened around 5:15 PM today, Coven seemed to open around 5:30 PM, Dead Man's Pier and Chupacabra appeared to open around 5:45, but had a decent line backed up already.

For those who may be interested
got into S&S for blumhouse at like 5:15, and got 7/10 houses for the night done without express by 9 pm.
in order we got through Blum, Bugs, Descendants, Weeknd, and Monsters with functionally a walk on, then had to wait about 20 min for Coven and 50 for Halloween.
It's definitely not perfect, since at the end of the day it's still a friday night without expresss and I had to bail early, but it's not too shabby if you cant get express, 100% couldve had everything done by closing at least.
Will be trying out Halloween S&S tomorrow with express since I'll have it

Did all the houses twice since Thursday. Tonight just walking around eating and drinking. It's sooo nice and relaxing to do without crowds or lines. BTW my favorite house is Dead Man's Pier. Detail is fantastic. Great year and scare zones are superb.

Apologies if in the wrong thread.

Can anyone please advise on the monsters experience at Cabana bay? Operating hours and worth visiting, we are staying at nearby sapphire falls

With the first couple of weekends are in the bag, I’m noticing trends with S&S. Halloween often seems to have a wait time on the app by 5:15 (which I’m guessing means people are in the house) whereas Weeknd/Monsters is 5:45 or closer to 6.

Does it look like the right play is to do Halloween then head up to that corner of the park? Is that even possible?

That's the sense I'm getting. Seems like Halloween is the correct choice here due to that early time.

Just got back from our trip this weekend, still processing it all, but wanted to drop this here because someone asked about the hotel entrance a bunch of pages back and I answered based on last year's experience, but now have this year to go off of.

If you are like me and just come down for the event, and don't have a day ticket most days, do NOT pay for Scream Early, your hotel key essentially functions as a full Stay and Scream this year!

We showed up our first two nights at 5:15-20pm at the hotel entrance, expecting to wait about 15-20 minutes to be let in with the rest of the park gate guests around 5:45, but they instead immediately let us into Hellblock. We ran through Hellblock and were dumped out into the park at 5:25 with the rest of the true Stay and Scream guests. We ended up getting three or four runs in before the rest of the park even opened, pretty comparable to true Stay and Scream, and for no extra money.

Confirming also, with the MAJOR caveat of "Don't be a jerk and abuse this", they only looked for one hotel key per group, and at that they literally only needed a flash of the key, no closer inspection of names, dates, etc.

Can't lie, it was nice to almost be required to enter the event through a house that would have otherwise been a skip for us, because instead of having to invest any of the rest of our night in seeing it, we kind of got it thrown in as a Pre-Order Bonus, haha. Would our gameplay (night) have been impacted at all had we not done it? No. Am I glad I now have a little paper poster of the game's box art (house run)? Mildly. Lol

Idk if this deserves its own thread to discuss but wanted to talk about staffing and the holes this year in a majority of the houses, especially opening and closing hours it seems. Last year with COVID I understand an increased call out rate and is anyone hearing that it's people being sick again this year at a higher rate or universal having to be more accommodating to people's schedules (i.e. showing up later or leaving earlier) due to a lack of availability. I would assume howloscream orl eats some of that but also saw on Twitter people saying they weren't cast for HHN this year.

So kinda just curious for people's insights. I mean at the end of the day, these are people and I would hope universal is paying them enough to entice and retain talent year to year.

P.S. I've always wanted to do it just for fun since I love the event but enjoy going too much. I would totally do like part time fire crew type stuff if they ever did that but it always seems that universal demands full availability for the event.

Isn't the Halloween house location the best place to start every year due to opening time? I think it has been for me. On a sidenote anyone have an idea as to how many people per hour generally get through a house?

Worth a walk over. It's photo ops with backgrounds of the Uni Monsters. Opens at 2pm and just need your room key to enter. We liked it and got some cool pics of the family. Guys working there were very good and friendly.

Were there a lot of strobe lights? Or any for that matter? My daughter-in-law loves horror stuff but can't be around strobe effects.

Not sure about the 3, but we did the 6-house tour yesterday. We got started around 9:30 AM and we ended at 3:45 PM, with an hour in there for lunch.

Where did your lunch break happen? In other words, what area of the park were you in/what house did you stop for a break after? I’m trying to plan ahead on where we’ll be grabbing food.

All the houses seemed well staffed until last night, at least 3-4 different empty spots in each house. Hellblock and Pier had it the worst
