Waterside close-ups;

There is something soothing about that oscillating helix.

@RollermanDan Is oscillating helix unofficially becoming the description because I love it!?

Something, I'm happy about with these recent photos is the close up of the rails before installation. I had assumed for years that they were welded together for a smooth transition between pieces but was told that they're never welded. I always thought that seemed a bit odd with how much steel can bend and how far the bolts are from the rail connecting the pieces.

Being able to see that the rails have a male to female connector for the rails explains so much.

My reaction if this actually happened...

The JP Visitor's Center that inspired the Discovery Center is almost iconic. JW's Innovation Center... isn't.

But at this point, after the explicit new JW elements of Raptor Encounter, I'm putting more money than not on the idea that Universal is probably thinking of doing something close to what you propose. I think they're hellbent on transforming my once-favorite land in the park into... well, a land that is not going to be my favorite land in the park any longer.

Not satisfied, no.

I certainly would like River Adventure to receive updated animatronics, but that's about the extent of what I'd want to see.

While I completely agree with your sentiment that the JP aesthetic is far superior to the JW decor, I think the idea of keeping the land a mishmash of Jurassic then and now was wishful thinking on a lot of our parts. Sure, the general public probably doesn’t really care if it’s “World” or “Park” or a bit of both, but Universal is particular about theme consistency. Having the New Raptor Encounter lean into “World“ in every conceivable way makes it just plain odd that the signage around the land remains “Park”. I think we’ll see that slowly change. Ideally, for me, at this point I hope they update the DC, change the signage, give it some tech TLC, repaint where absolutely necessary, update the animatronics on RA, but keep as much of everything else that they can the same (I’m looking at you, lagoon).

Bottom Line? Whether you love Jurassic World or hate it, you have it to thank for Jurassic’s presence continuing in the parks for many more years to come. I never thought they’d get rid of Jaws, even after they closed BTTF. Once that happened, anything was possible.

Except when it comes to E.T., that adorable little runt.

Something I gotta appreciate with this coaster is that it somehow gets better as time goes on. Most coasters slow down too much near the middle of the ride, but this is non-stop thrills to the end. Same with Hagrid. Universal isn't just building coasters, they're building them to perfection.
The second half of this one is going to be much better than the second half of Hulk. Just sayin'.

This heartline looks more elongated than that of Maverick so that's a good thing. I wonder if the water level will rise higher than what it is now?

It is down a bit. I expect it up to the top of the footers in the water. They all seem to be the same height.

Not a high bar :sleep:

I see Isla Avontura as one of the many Magic Kingdoms. Some things are the same in each park. some are different and something like Star Tours in Tomorrow-land is like what the heck are they thinking placing it here. So yeah, Jurassic park and Jurassic world are 2 different parks and this is the third one that gets the stuff that works (we hope).
