If you haven't, you ought to see Cedar Point's skyline from OH Route 2. All you see is a gathering of the tops of lift hills and Top Thrill. It really sets the mood as you are on your way there and it says goodbye as you're driving home (if you are headed west).

Yep, Iconic

Busch Gardens as well.

Funny enough I saw someone rant one time about how coasters ruin the skyline at Universal and how they don't care about sightlines.

Essentially comparing things to DisneySea....But that's just the thing, DisneySea is DisneySea and IOA is IOA

Not one too tall or too short...we want the layered effect.

Oooooooo! Pretty.

The double helix is going in.

Now someone can Photoshop in what the view of the Discovery Center will actually look like.

It looks so freakin' cool. I love that the height of the top hat and it's placement is designed to frame the Discovery Center with Hogwarts on the other side from this perspective . You can tell they thought hard about this sightline. The helix is just at the right height not to block the view of Hogwarts. Coaster tracks, to me, are like steel sculptures. I think this is beautiful.

Yeah... I have had mixed feelings on this project from the get go. I have no doubt that this will be an absolutely incredible Rollercoaster with some nice rockwork and what not, but I keep asking myself “at what cost?” Kong and Forbidden Journey already did a number on Jurassic Park’s atmosphere, but this completely ripped it up, affecting everything from the general walkways, to Pteradon Flyers, and even Popeye (whose once secluded turn into the climactic liftnwas secluded, but now is abutted by a mass of steel). At this point, the only part of Jurassic that is retaining the secluded feel that once made the area so special appears to be the path between the HP bridge and LC Bridge, and that too will be heavily trafficked as people go to the entrance by the discovery center.

I once brought this up to a friend, who quickly responded “well, if you have a problem with coasters, then why do you like Hulk,” to which I first responded “I don’t hate coasters,” but then went on to talk about how MSHI is themed to an industrial urban area, so have a large mass of steel that appears to be sculpted is befitting of the area. Even more so, Hulk frames the entry to and area around it in a way that (so far) it doesn’t appear that Velocicoaster will. While this will be a great addition to the park, and one that I am sure I will enjoy, I still can’t help but mourn the loss of JP’s brilliant placemaking.

That is a very JW style logo/entrance sign.

I think it's going to be kind of..amazing to watch it, especially with how the colors are with the ride.

If you look at it. It covers much of the show building everyone has been complaining about. Once it's themed I think it will be a welcome addition.

Also, you can tell a lot of thought went into the design of the helix. It dips down close to the water in the exact spot to get the best photo of Hogwarts Castle from that bridge.

1) Thats JW coloring w/ blue sign for Raptor Encounter and looks good. I’m going to guess other signage will be replaced with blue vs red once the coaster opens.
2) The fact we have one side open with fresh landscaping is going to make that walk enjoyable again and not a death march on concrete. Finally!
3) Entrance from HP gonna be ugly for a while, but will likely look better afterwards because the show building won’t be exposed as much.
4) What the heck is taking so long on the locker situation? I’m shocked they haven’t finished during this time. Potentially supply line issues?

Hey there’s reasons to complain about bad design but I don’t see a point in complaining about an under construction project. This is Hagrid paths 2.0.
