Jesus, can we please give this a rest until at least we know when or if the parks will open again? Not a shot at you, BoSox, but this isn't the time.

We were told to have business run as usual from admin. This is still HHN speculation and this is the place to discuss it, Pandemic or not. We are allowed to ask questions. Most of us are cooped up in our houses, discussing HHN helps relieve stress. Please understand.

If that's their stance, cool. I'll be back after this all blows over, then. See you all on the other side.

Marketing isn’t essential, right now.

Does that mean that marketing isn't key to HHN's plans....or that they're deemed "Non-Essential" employees and not supposed to report to work now? I might be reading too much into that, but those are terms being used by me right now for who's allowed to go to work. Just curious.

if I were Uni, I’d cut the lagoon show since it’s the least essential aspect of HHN.

I’d think that amongst everything, it’d be the easiest thing to keep. Compared to the cost of building and staffing everything else, a lagoon show with all the infrastructure in place would be cheap to put together.

The marketing team is likely considered non-essential. The parks aren’t open, and no one is really sure how long they’ll be closed. So, with nothing to market right now, a marketing team is non-essential. The social media accounts haven’t made any new posts in four days, and are strictly replying to an occasional question about the closing (which means the social media team is managing it with a skeleton crew).

Once the parks know when they’re reopening, the blitz for everything (parks and HHN) will be immense.

Not sure. I'd like to think they'd wanna continue their marketing strategy from the past few years, but some may view any announcement, especially one dealing with "horror", as insensitive during these times. If we don't get anything next week, I'd wager we don't get anything until this all normalizes.
Agree on all of these points.

I'm out of a job for at least three weeks and if it goes longer than that, I won't be attending this year if the event happens at all. Hopefully can convince my fiancee to make next year our actual "last time for a while". I hope everyone here stays safe and virus-free. Unless things magically change soon, I wish you the best of luck and will see you for 31 spec.

At least in the events industry, everyone halted their announcements (like Lollapalooza not dropping their lineup or on sale date), but it feels like many are banking on August to be the month where everything is back to normal. I've had 3 concerts that were meant to happen in april get postponed to september/october.

I think the most acceptable way to deal with likely delayed construction is to drop the house count by one. JMO

If what’s been rumored about locations this year is true (CLB replacing Shrek), guessing that it would be the venue cut. So the 9 house locations would be SS23A/B, SS24A/B, B79, B108, spring tents, and MIB tent.

Or just hire more workers to finish the job on time.

I don’t think so. It would be a good way to allocate budget cuts to make up for lost revenue.

Be nice if it were an IP that got cut as Legacy suggested. Could easily move said IP to a zone and put it in line for the Trick R Treatment.

So, what "original" houses are we thinking as the most likely to re-appear this year (either in sequel form or offshoot or just straight re-appear)? I'm guessing a few of the ones mentioned below are possibilities based on how good they were originally:

Icon mash-up
Scarecrow
Slaughter Sinema
Legendary Truth
Body Collectors
Scary Tales

I'm thinking that, with the virus going around, that they may steer clear of certain originals like Dead Exposure or others dealing with pandemics. What do y'all think? Any of these seem realistic? Others I'm missing?

Scary Tales is a no, unless there’s a room referencing it in an anniversary house. And I don’t think Sinema will show up at all. Not because it wasn’t popular, but more so because it’s not needed. Terra Cruentes, Creepshow, and an anniversary house are already three “clip show” houses where each scene is something completely different. Sinema would be four; nearly half.

Body Collectors will (should) appear strictly in Terra Cruentes.

And if multiple icons show up, it will likely only be in the anniversary house. But I’m not actually expecting them.

I'm thinking any new concepts from the 20's are fair game. I personally would love to see a Giggles and Gore encore.

The return of Bloodengutz, please god. That's the one Original that will make me go full on crazy. Im surprised the sequel isn't already a thing. I wouldn't care what else was there if HR was at the event this year. I don't know how probable it is but now reading that @Legacy said that Slaughter will not appear gives me some hope that it will return because there concepts are familiar and having them both on the lineup is kind of a stretch.

I’m thinking of a sequel or prequel for scarecrow.
