I think Zelda is the perfect supplementary land; something that is immersive and well-themed, but not on the scale of Mario or Potter. Not every theme park land can be a Galaxy's Edge or SNW in scope after all, we need our Springfields as well. That's why I fully advocate for Zelda to be a Lost Continent replacement with one ride and one walk-through attraction.

Still highly themed and immersive though. A few steps above Springfield. Think Skull Island but with another attraction and a restaurant to replace Mythos.

I agree and am hoping this is what ends up happening too. I mean the setting of Zelda is already a hodgepodge of Roman Greco, Persian, Medieval, and Fuedal Japanese elements. With just a few adjustments it's already Zelda themed as is.

I mean, I know they wouldn't just slap a Triforce on everything and call it a day, but for the purpose of keeping the ancient mythology vibe of LC alive while adding in a relevant brand of some kind, Zelda is as near perfect a choice as you will ever get.

I actually disagree with the way they are doing Star Wars. I think they could have went a lot bigger with it and spread it across their parks. But there is a monumental difference between Zelda and Star Wars.

No.

Full tear down or UC will know my wrath. No shortcuts with anything Nintendo except reusing the Mythos kitchens.

lol that's what I'd want too Mike.

I just see people unfamiliar with Zelda thinking it would be something akin to more of the Mario characters in atmosphere and tone, when in actuality it's much closer to Lord of the Rings as interpreted by Studio Ghibli.

I'm saying as a LC replacement that retains the "myths & legends" feel it's kinda perfect.

Replacement. Not retheme.

Of course. I meant similar to Springfield in size, except rearranged to fit in the Lost Contient. Enter the kingdom of Hyrule from the Seuss side, see a small village with shops + a milk/potion bar, and with Hyrule Castle itself toward the end, featuring the main attraction(s).

I bet they keep the Lost Woods interactive experience from the concepts too, just using the Korok people instead of Kokiri children. And I would wager the Mythos replacement would be Zora Domain related(it's be on the water's edge after all.)

The Hyrule market place area would be a great way to utilize all the other tribes and races from the Zelda games too. Have some Rito, Gerudo, Goron, Sheikah, etc. wandering about running shops and pretending to be on quests and whatnot.

Hyrule Castle/Temple of Time Ruins can be the entrance and exit to the Zelda theater ride.

I know some want Death Mountain, but I can't imagine them going there unless this was a larger "Land" as opposed to a mini-land.

I love the idea of them taking Hyrule Castle Town and expanding it. In the games, it mostly featured Hylians, but in a theme park setting they could almost make it a cultural fair of Zelda races; Gorons, Zora, Gerudo, Koroks, etc. Really hammer in that "fantasy world full of all kinds of unique creatures" vibe. Throw in a dark ride where you join Link on a journey to defeat Ganon and an interactive experience where you explore a dungeon or the Lost Woods, and we're perfect. (Plus I'd melt if they had some sort of animatronic Goron/Zora/Koroks that would interact with guests, SWGE-esque.)

Again Zelda deserves a much larger land than mini-land. Zelda can stand on its own. I love how people say Zelda is niche yet its the only game that had a traveling symphony orchestra just based off its music that people paid to go see.

It also attracts a demographic with the most disposable income males 19-34. Wasting it on a mini land will end up letting money fly by., larger you go better return on investment.

I don't think Zelda is niche, I just have no problem with a mini-land for it.

I have to disagree. Zelda is extremely popular... among video game fans. But compared to Mario, Pokemon, and a LOT of the IPs currently at Universal, Zelda is absolutely dwarfed in popularity. The highest selling Zelda games only hit around 10m copies sold, meanwhile the highest selling Mario and Pokemon games have sold over 50m+ copies. That's not to say it wouldn't be a good fit for a miniland, I think it'd be perfect in fact, but I think anything bigger than Lost Continent would alienate a lot of people who wouldn't even know what the area is based off.

Also, Zelda is far from the only game that has a traveling symphony. :P Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and several other series have had traveling orchestras before too.

Nintendo wise, Zelda was the only game that has had a traveling symphony. Nintendo land is for video game fans. I don't get why people think catering to video games fan is bad. Those same video game fans are the ones who purchase DLC every time its comes out making video game companies tons of money. In case we all forget Universal is a business and the more money it makes mean better and brighter things for us theme park fans in the future.

Also, with Nintendo having so many IPs I doubt we will get a Potter like two land in two different parks on same IP in two different parks with Zelda which means the first time has to be done right. Nothing will be worst than Zelda getting something yet Kirby or Animal Crossing gets something on a larger scale and now Zelda fans are like what the ****. Again as many times people go with game sales, doesn't mean theme park integration will be successful. COD, GTA, all have had amazing sells yet if universal built those, people not be rushing to those lands.

If we are going by game sales Universal should build the WII series since that was the third besting selling Nintendo franchise selling 202.1 Mil totally to Zelda's lowly 82.48 mil. Lets have that be the replacement for Lost Continent. Its obviously what the GP wants.

Lastly, its an action/adventure game based on exploration. IOA has immersion issues which make vertical building hard. Which means they can't build up for more space without ruining sightlines. Do you want to be looking out hyrule castle and seeing the hulk? I would assume no nor do I think Nintendo want that.

TLDR: Game Sales are not the best way to determine size of land. GP doesn't know what it wants.

To further what you are saying, Zelda as a series has sold ~82 million copies. Thats all games combined throughout its history. Minecraft has sold 122 million copies. Sonic the Hedgehog has sold 150 million copies. Assassin's Creed has sold 100 million copies. Pro Evolution Soccer(never even knew this existed) has sold more than Zelda with 86 million copies. Warcraft has had months over 12 million subscribers. League of Legends apparently has 100 million players.... a month! Which is staggering and somewhat unbelievable to me, but it is what it is.

So yeah, it's pretty niche outside gamers.

You're comparing apples to oranges. In your list are yearly sports games, free to play games, and games with more installments. Zelda is popular and influential game in the industry. If we're looking at pure sales then I can't wait for Solitaire land.

OK it has less sales than:

Mario
Tetris
Pokemon
Grand Theft Auto
Call of Duty
The Sims
Sonic
Need for Speed
Final Fantasy
Minecraft
FIFA
Lego
Madden
Assassins Creed

Like you said, it's popular and influential in the industry. Unfortunately for the Zelda fans, Universal isn't in the video game industry.
