Example: if I am told a 60min wait at 1pm and Tapu Tapu tells me at 2pm to go to the slide and I still wait an additional 20min, I would not be happy. But if Tapu Tapu informs me to return at 1:40 and I wait an additional 20min and I ride at 2pm I wouldn't mind.

The Orlando Sentinel article about opening today, quoted someone who waited 32 mins. But said 20 mins was the normal wait. (At least it was today).

Considering the statement from the park apologizing for the inconvenience and to have patience. I'm sure it's something they'll be trying to work on.

So apparently there were waves in the action river. Small waves out of the first wave machine.

Based on the surrounding wall heights at this location I don't believe there will be larger waves out of this machine. Now the machine in the volcano doesn't seem to be working as the walls there are much taller which implies larger waves. However, I do like the rapids that are created just down stream of the volcano.

So, I'm assuming this is the gist of the expansion zone and how a mammoth slide might fit in that space. (quick PS job)

Nice! So they COULD fit a huge record breaker back there! And there's still enough room for a few other rides and attractions. I would love to see something like this. Hopefully this starts sooner than later.

Yikes they totally missed the mark with this water "theme" park. It could/should of been waaaay way better. UC said they traveled around the world to different water parks to research. Out of all that research etc we get this??! ... All the signs look like something out of Nickelodeon or however you spell it. Very cartoonish and not in a good way. The entire parks theme. That "fearless" river has me cracking up. A mess... I give them props for the front side of the volcano. Only thing they focused on. Very inconsistent. And didn't teebin say money was never an issue for this project.... Bizarre.

Careful spreading those kind of opinions around here my friendo - the venom is real!

Can we all agree the black/white dichotomy of experienced/not is false and there are conclusions that can and cannot be drawn from both ends?

If we know how Tower works and how the ride feels when it moves, we can draw a pretty fair conclusion of the new ride for Guardians if we see what the changed show scenes look like.

Similarly we can tell what Volcano Bay currently looks like from guest videos and photos - especially if we have the right context included in the photos. Remember the Pandora photo where people were in the second tier of the rockwork making the size of the vista understandable? We can see how people view and move through this area - we generally know what it is like.

At this point many aspects don't remotely match the concept art as presented, so we have a right to express frustration and dissapointment for the project.

And to note - discussing something is not fighting. Even disagreement is not a fight. People do not have to agree. I ask those of you who find disagreement so offensive and "ruining these forums" to look deep down inside yourself and figure out what's going on that doesn't allow you to accept the slightest criticism without prickling.

And for the "well it's obviously not done so it's not right to judge it.."

Anything a company opens to the public is a calculated risk - they opened it. This was their choice and these are the consequences.

I'm so glad these silly observations only exist on these forums. The same 3 or 4 people come on here everyday posting 10 or more extended paragraphs a day ranting about the most minor details that just don't matter to most people. It's ok to criticize on a universal fan based website even if u are a disney fan, but why come here everyday with the harsh criticism when you already know how it's about to go down. Stop ...lling and find another site it's getting old dude.

I think the park looks great, my only problem is with the fearless river, specifically the part where it goes thru the volcano, I just think it looks super ugly and I hope UC can find a good way to fix that. It is obvious some parts of this park are still awaiting detailing and to be finished, but once it is done it will look great.

@epcyclopedia for the win. Wish I could like ^that post x100. What's funny to me is the folks on here that think I'm a hater. I'm probably a bigger fan of these parks than most of you.

Wish some of you would quit dishing crap to people that have unsavory opinions on things. I tried to tell you about the volcano months ago and got slammed for it. Now we see it in the flesh and things haven't changed. Can they fix it? Sure! Should they fix it? Absolutely. But to brush it under the rug in the name of universal loyalty is crazy.

What the team should do is get the approval to add those volcanic boulders in and around the interior section of the volcano. Pair it with heavy foliage, lots of mist, and a redo of the netting, and I think it'll not only improve that section but break up the monotony of the river itself. Something like that shouldn't take more than half a week to finish, even with the park in full operation.

The fact that they think that is guest ready is what takes me back in the first place. There's stuff in Volcano Bay that thematically is a 9 or a very close 10 that coexists with other stuff that thematically is a 2 or 3. Gotta get things looking more consistent.

The park looks amazing and the guests loved it today. Hope Tapu Tapu proves itself, but other than that great opening day and the people are pleased.

If that is true - guests being pleased - why would universal issue the statement they did?

Because it wasn't the most perfect day there were expecting and something even if you didn't do something necessarily wrong acknowledging you can do better is a good thing. Would you rather Universal not say anything?

Oh goodness.. Universal twitter is going to have fun tomorrow... I searched #volcanobay and saw so many complaints from today... varying from "worst day at a water park ever" to "taputapucrapucrapu" seeing complaints about the system, not thinking it will ever work, and they should just do a normal line system, someone said there were lineups of angry guests for GR ... I hope they can get this all under control and fast.

For me, with most of the theme issues we've seen today, it's not so much trying to brush it under the rug, but rather considering these areas to be incomplete and believing that they will be improved so what we currently see isn't the permanent solution. It's not giving them a free pass, it's just waiting to criticize theme until the remaining theming work ends.

That being said, the river through the volcano is the one straight up bad thing I saw in pictures today. If they don't make significant improvements to it they deserve every piece of crap thrown their way.

I would guess they needed to get one river open so they did the fearless river while finishing up the cave in the lazy river, and once they get that done they will close the fearless river for a bit to add more theming to it.

Oh did you? Because I saw quite a few that said the opposite. For every 1 negative tweet, there were 5 positives of people who had a great time. The negatives were complaining because the park was crowded. I get people are going to complain but I also see a lot of people trolling who aren't even there so take with grain of salt.

One worker did confirm that every division had guest complaints but one but I don't know what division she works.
