First couple times I posted Hulk wait times I kept getting asked for Kong and Spiderman. Just threw it in after that.

For me it was worse. I went back in time to my days at Six Flags Great Adventure and thought Skull Mountain. But then again when I see HHN I think it's Hurricane Harbor Nights... :D

Despite being owned by Disney, Marvel still operates as an independent company with their own separate licensing deals. I'm sure there's some mucking around going on as they do share legal teams now but overall it's a friendly relationship between Marvel and UO, as it always has been.

As long as Perlmutter is CEO of Marvel then the relationship with Universal is in good standing. He's incredibly grateful to Universal for taking a chance on Marvel back when they were owned by Toy Biz and in the were in the throes of bankruptcy. Marvel (and Perlmutter & Arad) wouldn't be where they are now without those mid-late 90s licensing agreements that are still biting them in the ass today (Fox).

As much as that may be, Perlmutter already got kicked out along with Quesada (thank god) from the creative side of the house and it seems Dis is trying to push them out the company to instill Kevin instead who is pretty much a lapdog.

That's Marvel Studios, which operates as its own separate entity and is a direct branch of Walt Disney Studios. Universal's contract is with Marvel themselves. Perlmutter is still CEO of Marvel. Marvel and Marvel Studios are not the same entity.

As long as Ike is in charge of Marvel TV and Marvel Comics, all the characters on the shows with the exception of Coulson will not be able to be used for films by reported in May as Kevin and Ike don't see eye to eye which the disconnect still is causing problems as they can't synergize and Marvel Comics cut the movie based version of the GOTG comics that were suppose to come out. They want Ike out completely.

...not sure how that comment effects Universal at all, but okay. I think every Marvel TV show except the Netflix shows are poop, and I wouldn't want another company handling those characters (Marvel Studios) anyway.

Marvel Studios didn't want Ike out of a job, they wanted to be separated from the council (including Perlmutter, Quesada, and Jeph Loeb) that ultimately made decisions for Marvel Studios' direction. Feige presented a good case that they were restraining him from doing his job as best as he could and it was split. Marvel cut the GOTG comics because Marvel Studios didn't want a separate company building an in-continuity lore for their universe.

You're presenting a situation that doesn't really exist. If they wanted him gone, it would have happened in the past 7 years.

I'm pretty mixed on the enhancements. Rode the new version for the first time during the AP event last night. There was a severe lack of air conditioning in the queue, leading to it feeling pretty hot and sticky, even at 10:30PM. The gamma core (and associated bass effects) in the queue are pretty awesome actually, though the screens before the station area are basically pointless. The station and the launch tunnel look great...but man, I wish the launch audio lived up to Banner's dialogue in the original. They basically traded audio for visuals, instead of having both of them be memorable. Can't really say much about the onboard music since it's hardly audible until after the brake run. Maybe putting the speakers near guests' feet wasn't the right way to go. The ride felt slightly smoother, but still had a bit of the old version's shakiness to it. I wouldn't even call it as smooth as Dragons.

Overall, still an amazing coaster (the launch into the zero g roll remains one of the best things ever), but many of the upgrades seem to not quite reach their potential. Between the onboard audio hardly making itself known, the queue getting old quick due to a lack of anything interesting to look at once you get bored of the gamma core (those interested in screens displaying detailed statistics readouts please disregard), and the lack of AC, it just doesn't live up to what it could be. I would certainly never want to spend more than 10-15 minutes in that queue, which should be a blasphemous statement for a 2016 Universal attraction.

Damn, I don't want to have to pay for Hulu just for that. Might skip out.

I understand the complaints about the AC, but in order for this to be possible, they'd have to seal the building. Right now it is a completely open-air building with multiple huge 200 sq. ft. openings where the vents are, plus all the cutouts around the reactor AND all the doors.. it wouldn't be possible to put in AC unless they sealed all of these openings with windows.

Fans though.. still can't comprehend why they only put 1 fan in the indoor queue at the beginning. Those cost a LOT less than putting in a HVAC system, and cost a LOT less to run.

In all that time they couldn't have figured out how to seal the building? That was one of the complaints about the original queue

I don't think the problem is figuring out how to do that, it's relatively simple. The costs of doing so would be so high they would have to take the money out of other parts, like the actual creative design of the interior. Again, 15-20 fans would do the same trick as AC and cost much less.

Sorry, I'm late...but did they take out the Bruce banner dialogue before the launch? That was always one of my favorite parts, it gave this sense of panic and urgency to the launch.

I don't remember the queue having AC issues previously? Is Universal aware of these complaints? Because we seem to have been hearing about them since the very first preview.
