If you're to believe Jim Hill, if Universal lose Marvel, MSHI is to become the wizard of Oz with the Hulk becoming the Wicked coaster.

If it turns out that a deal has been made for GOTG to go into TOT for Universal to be able to update Marvel to the MCU, id be perfectly happy with that.

I think if they made any kind of deal it would be for the rights to make a standalone Hulk movie. At least that's the deal I would make if I was Bob. Does Universal still have the movie rights to Namor the Sub-Mariner? What about She-Hulk?

As per @Marni1971 over on Magic.
There is no override. As in none.

Guardians - at least some of them - are not part of the contract. Hence they're already in DHS. But I'm not really into the details of the Marvel Universe thing.

Avengers are planned to end up in IOA.

Because they'd have a new E ride on steroids to promote. Unless Pets jumps the queue at the other end of the Land.

Yes. I was just questioning why no Avengers attraction a couple of weeks ago. Hope it's on the soon to be built plans. It will drive attendance no doubt and put the finishing touch on the Marvel Island.

They'd have to do something completely new and ground breaking with Spider-Man right next door. Would anyone mourn Dr. Doom if it had to go for this?

I'd miss the Doom queue more than the ride. The ride is a cool effect BUT it's only like a 20 or 30 second experience. That's it's big weakness. I'd rather experience a 4 to 6 minute attraction.

I love that type of ride but I wouldn't be overly sad to see it go. I could see a much bigger character replace it also. I'd happily see all Fantastic Four and X Men leave the area.

Doom seems like a ride that could easily be transplanted to another area in either park, if they wished to just use the area it's currently located in.
Throw it in JP and theme it to a flying dinosaur etc

Avengers seems like the obvious addition for 2019, to coincide with the release of the Infinity War Part 2. Maybe something like this:

2018: SLoP
2019: Avengers
2020: Nintendo

I might be in the minority but I want the Avengers ride to be similar to MIB, but with iron man repulsors and going against he likes of Ultron, Thanos, proxima, Glaive, and so on. With AAs of the Avengers.

The rumor is FearFall and Storm Force get axed along with the arcade and Fantastic 4 cafe to make way for an Avengers Dark Ride. There was also a rumor at one point to axe the Toon Stadium for an Iron Man flyer coaster. The Iron Man rumor always seemed bogus to me personally but the Avengers rumor is something I've heard for YEARS.. Whether or not its true who knows but I'll say this. If your trying to create MUST DO's for guests in both parks over the next 4 or 5 years, Avengers would really balance the power out.

Studios
Diagon
Nintendo
Fast and Furious
Transformers

IOA
Hogsmeade
Kong
Spidey
Avengers

I'm all for it but it does seem very weird to have it right smack dab next to Spidey.

If I had any faith in Universal's writing skills I would beg for an Avenger's stunt show.

I wouldn't mind seeing Gary Goddard's take - that Conan show?!? Woof.

I would also much much rather see something X-Men based. Adding an Avengers Ride you might as well just call it Avenger's Island.

Spidey as in a must do attraction for guests visiting the park. Think of it from the perspective of a tourist, what are their must do rides and are there enough to convince them to do both parks or just one day at Universal.

With that description I would love to hear why you left JP off the list...? I find that it's always a "must do" for the first time folks I visit the park with....

But the X-men wouldn't bring in the same amount of people Avengers would.

Spidey is the king of Universal and an automatic Must Do for guests.

I won't argue with that - at all - my mother will spend all day in single rider to rid that sucker.

I just was wondering why JP also wouldn't be included in your list. I have always felt that it's a must do. I mean, it has its own land.

JP is on many peoples list present day, and even more so 10 years ago. But IMO if you factor in Potter, Kong, Spidey, Hulk, and then the Avengers I think JP becomes very expendable compared to these.

The supposed positioning an Avengers ride basically right next to Spider-Man is intriguing, for that suggests a different sort of ride experience. They wouldn't want two similar(ish) rides in such close proximity, would they?

Then again, they're basically allowing that to happen in the Studios with Fallon right next to Minion Mayhem, so who knows? I would hope an Avengers ride wouldn't just be Spidey 3.0.

I think the old Matt Hoffman show building would be ideal for something like that. I think an X men ride to balance it out could be a good idea.

That rumour about an Iron Man flying coaster though.
