I took these photos over this past weekend.

Yes, they are still doing time tickets. You pickup your ticket near the UO equivalent of Central Park. I picked mine up, but the time for entry was only about 30 minutes later, so not bad at all. When I got into Hogsmeade, the area was packed. Forbidden Journey was 180 min wait, Hippogrif was 160 min.

I went back later in the night and it was just walk in to the area, no time ticket return. I did get to ride 3D forbidden journey, and while the 3D made the dome scenes look great, the 3d glasses rims are way too large and takes up too much of your viewing angle, leaving you feel like youre peering through 2 tiny holes to see everything.

I personally didn't feel like the rest was too bright. Everything was just about the same except for the Floo projections. There seemed to be a few more Dementors than the UO version. Maybe I was just really into it at the time, but I vividly remember seeing 1 point where the KUKA arm points you upward where you see 3-5 dementors swooping in at you, almost like the old legendary scene that was removed from the UO version before opening.

Overall, 3D was cool, but the glasses made it not worth it for the rest of the attraction. Any questions?

Yeah, that is why I'm really not looking forward to the 3D conversion.

Motion Sickness 101.

FJ is probably one of the worst rides for motion sickness.

It's replaced Body Wars as one of the most turbulent and intensive simulators out there in terms of inducing motion sickness. Unlike Spider-Man, Transformers and Star Tours, it's not a smooth gliding experience. It's more like riding a spinning flat ride through a dark ride.

Transformers is starting to make me motion sick i'm really sad, as I love the ride, now I am really scared that I will not make it through FJ, and with 3d seems like it could be worse.....

We have our first video of the most obtrusive roller coaster at any major theme park, The Flying Dinosaur at USJ. Although, just looking at it as a roller coaster it's not half-bad.

I know I'm in the minority but I absolutely love this and would love to ride it on a very busy day in all the people below.

That's the dichotomy...really cool coaster that is nice to fly over all of the JP areas while you're on it...but feels a bit obtrusive when you're not on it.

Someone needs to make an invisible rollercoaster!

That looks like it might be even more intense than Manta. The second inverted dive into the tunnel looks insane!

Personally, I actually think the color of the track they used doesn't stick out that much... it's just going to be loud overhead more than anything (at least if it were me).

Well it's a good color for the land I think, and it gives a reptile feel to it.

They absolutely nailed what they were going for. All it needs is a huge animatronic Mosasaur trying to snap you up when you go over water.

It's just another steel roller coaster to me. What, other than the tunnel, does it do that Dueling Dragons doesn't?

On one hand, the coaster itself looks amazing, smooth, and should be an awesome experience on busy days when there is huge crowds below you. On another hand, JEEZ it is ugly and obtrusive. I don't think they should bring it to Florida because of that. Not only would it affect JP, but it could also effect HP pretty badly too.

At this point, the only new things I would expect for our JP is updates to our current experiences. In JPRA they could update the animatronics to look more lifelike, fix some of the effects that rarely work (I'm looking at you, doors!), and add new effects. The discovery center could maybe get some new experiences, maybe involving the "holograms" from Jurassic World. They could rip out Pteradon Flyers for all I care, if anything I'd say the land would benefit more from it being gone.

Personally, a clone of this coaster coming to Orlando, in a tasteful way, as a part of a third park is the way to go. Just change the theme.

I don't see how its obtrusive. It fits the theme. And it's in a theme park. Inside a theme park. Jurassic Park / World, would have roller coasters. Fact of life. So the fictional Jurassic Park is USJ - has a roller coaster - which utilizes it's walk ways and fly bys.

This will look (and be great) when the park is full of guests. Amazingly so, in my opinion.

But for those who want a purely immersive third park, outdoor coasters should be out of the equation. An outdoor coaster automatically destroys immersion. But if you only want a partially immersive park, then I would guess you can have outdoor coasters if their placement isn't too obtrusive.

Automatically destroys immersion is a tad bit extreme in my mind. Team Members, other families, and more traditional "theme park operating" goings ruin immersion much more for me than a coaster.
