There are 3 robo coasters types on the robocoster website. The first one is a stationary roboarm (like sum of all fears), the second one is HP and the forbidden forest ride at IOA. The third one is a robotarm on a coastertrack.

If Universal would use that tech to put a 4 person car on top of the arm and hide the robotarm and track onder the road with only a slot where the arm sticks trough they could build an insane ride. You could have the cars excelerate, slip, spin, do a wheely on 2 wheels and even jump over a road block! All without the use of screens. It would need a huge plot of land but could be a next level Cars ride on steroids (just like we like it from Universal).

Today I got word that Disaster will close at the start of HHN and start gutting right away. Also, Twister will close at the end of HHN...

Matches up with what I had heard, mostly. Heard both would close after the event though. Figured they can get started on the Disaster building innards and just knock it down once the HHN house is out of the way. Have to figure Beetlejuice will go around then too

I don't care anything about this franchise, but a fast paced racing ride could be cool. Plus it would give them an excuse to roll out the F&F prop cars again.

The Studio's has added a lot of capacity the past few years. I wouldn't anticipate this would be much of a strain on park lines.

It helps that neither are all that popular, TBH.

Disaster fills up and keeps guests off the street for a while, but it's got the ancient problematic ride system and the zero merchandising potential.

Twister, yeah. Perpetual walk-on.

Pretty sure Twister has a higher capacity than disaster. Does around 1000 an hour or more.

Don't get me wrong, I freaking LOVE Disaster. My point was more that no one is going to complain that they can't ride Twister or Disaster when both are closed.

1000 an hour would be pretty dreadful capacity.

So there's a chance that one could be opening next year? I bet Universal could get both open next year with their construction speeds but it probably wouldn't make sense with King Kong opening as well.

Yeah, I think the timeline'll be Kong in Spring/Summer 2016, Jimmy Fallon as early Early 2017, Fast & Furious by Thanksgiving 2017 (all ideals).

This is in addition to Volcano Bay and Saphire Falls. Not to mention anything that gets started with Nintendo construction.

If anything, it could go like this.

Fall/Winter: Hello Kitty store/NBCSports Grille

May 2016: Hulk and Kong

January 2017: Fallon

May 2017: Volcano Bay

November 2017: Furious

Summer 2018: Nintendo.

Theres going to be a lot of projects coming along the way and it makes sense for Furious to be at 2017.
