Well that's a very bold mural. Hopefully whatever is in inside is as striking as that.

Has anyone thought that this might be a boys equivalent to Belle's Enchanted Tales?
That actually wouldn't be disappointing with this property..Some kind of interactive adventure would be neat...I love the facade as well

Here's a new look at the facade/mural from WDW News Today:

Very detailed, I like it. I hope the inside is at least worthwhile. Lord knows it can't be worse than Narnia.

First Look: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow Opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Ahoy pirates fans! We have an update to share with you today on Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow, an attraction that’s coming soon to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Our friends at Walt Disney Imagineering just shared these first renderings of what you can expect at this new walk-through attraction when it officially opens on December 6. In it, guests will journey deep into an eerie lost grotto, where a mysterious pirate skull puts them to the test to see if they have what it takes to set sail with the legendary Captain Jack Sparrow. Along the way, they must face all the perils of a pirate’s life as their favorite moments from the films come to life before their eyes.

Dress rehearsals and previews begin in late November before the grand opening on December 6. So, what do you think? Tell us in the “Comments” section below, and stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more updates on this new attraction.

Just heard from someone that they're starting to bring in some CMs to test it out and that there's still a fair amount of cosmetic work to be done for the interior entrance and exit. Evidently it's not too exciting, even with very low expectations.

Shocker...:bored:

Weren't we just expecting a leisurely walkthrough attraction, not unlike One Man's Dream, only with the sets of the Pirates films? I never had high hopes for this, as it was just a quick fix to get the equally boring Narnia stuff out of the space.

Sounds like what I was expecting. A cross between Poseidon's Fury in the sense of a walk through adventure on a smaller scale. Cross that with the idea of the interactiv blah blah bug that is going around with a hint of the walk through experience they are doing with Belle's enchanted tales.
At least it is better than Narnia.

So after finally talking with a friend who went through it today (they evidently brought quite a few CMs through it), here's a little more substance.

You walk into the first of two rooms, a pre-show. Your "host" for the attraction (the skull from the movie menus) is mounted above a shadowed doorway, he says some stuff, and has you say a few things. The door then dramatically unlocks (sound effects) and you walk through into the main show room. The show room is fairly impressive visually, although the building shell is very obvious right now. They use projections everywhere, to animate the ship getting hit with canon balls, to the zombie crew from Curse of the Black Pearl surrounding you. There is a lone AA that my friend was able to identify, and Jack makes his one appearance using technology very similar to what is used in the Forbidden Journey line for Dumbledore, etc. There are plenty of "repeat after me" and do this action parts, and comes off as a not as fun or impressive pirate version of Turtle Talk.

The impression I was left with from the description was better than Narnia, but not by much unless you're a young, aspiring pirate. Not even sure I'll bother with it once, honestly.

Well good thing is their building something new all the time so we won't have to wait long for a new attraction... Wait is this the Universal forum?

lol....there would be validity in this if DHS wasn't about to receive a major overhaul (and has arguably received the most new attractions/updates in the past 5 years out of all the parks).

So as much as a lot of people (including me) would love to have a developed, dark, hopeful, enigmatic Jack Sparrow, this basically tells us everything we already know and then makes us wish there was more?

There is validity in there NOW since the four years at that park has featured nothing opening except a redone Star Tours.
