It will be interesting to see how many passholders show up for the early entry mornings. We'll do at least two Sundays if the weather cooperates, but I will be royally pissed if we make that early drive from Orlando and it's not open for the early hour due to "Rockit-itis" (okay, sorry, I know that's bad). I'm anxious to get some rides in the middle, since I've only done front and back so far. Then here's hoping it will keep people off my beloved SheiKra for the rest of the morning.

Lets See there were 3 from this board at the gate at 6-630 am Friday. Got in Park at 930 piled into Cheetah Hunt came back to a line at 1 with no coaster running. stayed in line coaster came out of station at 2 went in station was inside roughly an hour before our ride. The thing I think with Cheetah while it is new is don't get out of line....

The ride went down 4 different times while I waited in line for it on Saturday, but each time was only 10-15 min of downtime. I don't know exactly what was going on but each time they would announce the technical difficulties, then cycle two empty trains to get the two off of the brake-run and unload the riders, and then it would reopen a few minutes later.

This.

CH goes down at least once every two hours, but it's rarely for more than twenty minutes (typically about ten), at least that's my experience. This is why the recording says "Cheetah Hunt is experiencing technical difficulties. We expect this to be a brief delay, and recommend that you remain in the line." Definitely stay in line. It will have problems for a while, but this ride is worth waiting for.

So my buddy and I got out to Busch yesterday after work around 3pm and we went straight to CH. Posted time was 120...figured this is the reason we drove out to Tampa so in line we went. First off....the queue building...you can tell it was just shoved into the old skyride building. Felt like I was waiting in a six flags esque queue, very boring switch back after switch back. Also, the fans are mostly in the upper part of the queue where you do the least amount of waiting, so in the lower level there is not much relief from the humidity that builds in the queue. Also had a 20-25min downtime during our wait.

Anyway onto the ride. First ride was...less than impressive. We were slotted into row 5, which is towards the middle/back of the train. Nothing stood out as incredible from the ride. Launches were a lot less intense than I thought they would be, figure 8 element is a complete gimmick, nothing interesting/thrilling about it, and the airtime in the middle of the car was close to nonexistent. After waiting 2 hours for that I felt cheated :blank:

We went and did some other coasters before it was 30min till closing. We decided to give CH another chance so we queued up again, this time wait time posted was 90. It had another 20 min break down right after we got in line. Once it was up the line creeped until we got to the loading station. We decided to give the back row a shot, which I am glad we did. The ride, whether it was because we rode at night, or in the back row, was much better. The air time was sick off the figure 8 into the trench dive, bunny hop over the skyway, and the first bunny hill after the 3rd launch was what stuck out as awesome to me riding in the back. All in all, that second ride changed my opinion about the ride to a positive one.

CH is definately in the family coaster catagory...not what I was hoping when BG first announced they were going to be building Florida's first Intamin, but it is a fun ride...if you sit in the back that is

anyone have experience with average wait times duriung the middle of the week? Im planning on going on a Wednesday in late July. I would hope that would put me in a better spot the going on a weekend. I don't want to wait 3 hours to ride...

Even though it's officially open, all this feels so much like a soft opening. These are the sort of glitches that could have/should have/would have been worked out. I'm still surprised they never did a soft, especially since SW did with Manta. Oh well, hoping it's all worked out by the end of the summer, in time for the fall slow season.

During Summer the middle of the week is obviously the best time to go.
Get there early and stay late for the shorter waits. Cheetah Hunt and Gwazi will have the longest lines.
If you are there when they are doing their Summer Nights shows and you don't want to see it that is a good time to get a few rides in.

thought Id give everyone a heads up..today is the last day to get the Pay for 1 day, come all year promotion for FL residents....

It seems like the lines are continuing to die down, of course, until Summer starts next week. Cheetah Hunt's wait has ranged from 110 minutes to the current wait time of 35 minutes today.

Like you said that was your personal experience. But if you went on saturday when everyone was off from work or school you would've experienced the 90min + wait. Unless you went around 8:30pm when it was back up and running during after the 2hr break (ride down)

1) I went opening day. I experienced crowds.
2) I experienced about a 90-minute wait all three times I rode on the 27th.
3) I guess I wasn't clear in my post. I just don't understand why anyone would leave a queue after waiting for an hour when some technical difficulties occur, especially if most of them are only 20 minutes max delays. Sure, it sucks that you'd have to wait longer, but if you leave, that's an hour of your life squandered.

I could never be disturbed by Cheetah Hunt's downtime and the resulting waits as it pales in comparison to the early days of Rip Ride Rockit. I gutted out some multi-hour waits for that one because I suspected it would never get added to Express (alas, so far that's held true) and that it might not be long for this world (thankfully, although it had the shut-down, it seems to be sound now). I would stay in line for a Cheetah Hunt breakdown, but I don't see myself in that line very much other than AP preview mornings because I suspect the bugs will get worked out pretty fast and it will get added to Quick Queue within a few months.
