Orlando generally doesn't do exact repeats, but they have featured the same film multiple times, like Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. If Killer Klowns ever came back, it would need to be redesigned to fit within a new space anyway, since the Shrek house location is gone.


Hard disagree here. It feels like Killer Klowns has become more prevalent in pop culture lately, especially compared to when the house first debuted. It has a new film in early production, it had a video game not too long ago, and I've seen an increasing amount of apparel produced for it at places like Spirit Halloween, and even at Universal Parks a couple months ago. It does have a sizable following for what it is.

This is the first time I’m hearing any hype for KKFOS. Granted the original was a B-Movie cult classic, but there are way more IP’s that haven’t hit HHN Orlando that deserve an appearance rather than an IP that’s already been done once as a scare zone and as a house. Unless KKFOS gets a well-received sequel, I don’t see it coming back as a house in Orlando.

And I *will* die on this hill.

We'll see.... As I mentioned, this property moves a fair amount of merch, and allegedly the rightsholders have a positive relationship and willingness to work with Universal. If not a repeat, an IP-original approach would also work well.

I just googled the history of KKFOS. The game flopped. All attempts at sequels flopped. And now it’s reported that Ryan Gosling wants to do a remake of KKFOS in 2025. We’re 5 months in 2026. Sorry but I don’t see any momentum for KKFOS.


Even if the merchandise sells, that’s not compelling enough to *waste* an IP house for it.

Well apparently Universal Orlando doesn’t agree with you (and HHN Hollywood) to want to make a KKFOS house again. So there’s that.

Unlike HHN Hollywood, Orlando doesn’t do repeats (only exception with American Werewolf in London for HHN 25).

KKFOS isn’t strong enough of an IP to warrant a repeat house. Sorry not sorry.

For posterity, AWiL was the only (near) full repeat. But we’ve seen Halloween 1978 twice as well. KKfOS could easily have used a different location and changed things up so as not to be classed as a “repeat” in the way AWiL was. But I digress. I’m not someone tied to the property.

KKFoS has interesting and distinctive costumes and settings which is what matters for a house. It’s a good choice for a repeat.

The merchandising and box office numbers may matter to execs but they shouldn’t matter to guests.

It's important to remember that the haunt scenes on each coast are different.

Repeats are way more normal in SoCal. In Orlando, people expect mostly new houses every year. That doesn’t mean repeats always go over well in California, but they’re definitely more accepted there.

Point is, you can’t really hold both coasts to the same standard on this.

I mean, of course the original is legendary and I do love it, but I think 3 is so overrated, and Zombie's II is one of my all time favorites. It's just not a franchise I care much for otherwise. Sue me!!!

As for what IP might be the least interesting for a tour, part of me feels like that would be Evil Dead Burn. I can see it being akin to Exorcist: Believer, where the house is more or less a trailer for the film, so it might not provide stuff that you can provide a lot of insights on.

And looking at things purely from a merch angle, what kind of easily recognizable character/imagery can you use for this merch.

Stranger Things - Venca/Demogorgon
Ozzy - OZZY, OZZY, OI, OI, OI.
Sinners - Smoke, Stack, Remmick

And then we get Evil Dead Burn. Character-wise you're at a little disadvantage since it's a new story. So you don't have Ash, who's really the most recognizable human in that IP. The deadites are random folks so they're not easily recognizable. All that's left is the possible Necronomicon and I think just a big book would be the odd one out amongst the other figures.

I defiantly took it as it can't be featured on merch with other properties, as if it's not featured on the carousel that makes sense.

Now to Legacy's quote, he said houses not house. Now I can be just overthinking here and it's just a typo but houses as in multiple. We won't get multiple of the same IP in the same year, but what if it already been an HHN house recently. The only IP the has been before out of the rumored line up is Stranger Things.

Considering Stranger Things has been on the tours before, I'd be a little surprised if it's not this year.

It also been featured on an IP shirt with El and Vecna among the other IP "icons". Something could have changed.

I'd like to think the game flopped because it's a Dead by Daylight carbon copy - because DBD has absolutely ruined licensed horror games (but I digress)

I'm not really sure which of the rumored IPs would be left off of the merch and tour.
