They've decreased the AP pass hotel discounts from a 40% ceiling down to a 30% discount ceiling.
And they've also lowered the highest discount saving on Stay More Save More to 30%.

I kinda get this. I’m pretty sure the hotel discount at Aventura last November paid for my Seasonal Pass

I do like how the discounts are now available for the whole year upfront.

Most were also available upfront for most of the year in 2025, though not in 2024. I booked my November 2025
hotels in Feb. 2025.
And the new Stay More Save More discounts are very low for all the top tier hotels. I'm glad I booked
two 2026 trips six months ago. The discount price differences are huge, especially on Portofino and Royal Pacific. ...
Betting rates will change, good and bad, as the year goes on, depending on demand. As always, best to check prices
every few weeks to get the best deals.

Yeah. I rebooked my hotel 4 times last year. I go with the beer rule. If the change in price will buy a beer it’s worth the effort

Universal/Lowes jacked up most of the 2026 hotel prices big time this week, even for AP's and removed a lot of Stay More Save More
rates for various dates. If you haven't booked for 2026 yet, be prepared for some sticker shock. WDW did the same....I guess they're talking
to each other.

Yeah. I got 6 nights at Royal Pacific first week in November for about $340 a night. ...I'm seeing the best prices for most
weeks at Terra and Stella hotels. Just a guess: I'm, wondering if they're having trouble filling those and thus trying to
entice visitors to book at those two.

first few days of September still looks OK, if you were going then for HHN....
Edit: I don't know the inner discussions, but it seems like hotel rates are fairly reasonable for bookings a year , or so, in advance.
I've always gotten my best rates by booking 'real early'. Seems like after that early period they jack the rates up a lot. Using that
philosophy, and cognizant that Easter is very early in 2027, I scanned April and November for 2027. I found some really good AP rates,
April and most especially May before Memorial Day week. Even Portofino and RP and Sapphire, especially if you stay away from Saturdays.
So I just booked Portofino for May 2 to May 7th for $430 a night and Sapphire from May 7th to May 13th for $211 a night.
They are taking bookings through July of 2027.

This is the way to do it if you can make plans far in advance.
