Halloween Horror Nights 34 (UOR) - Speculation & Rumors

With the rumored zones, at the moment I don't think they read that way.

Now I can see some of them taken on the fun and playful side, but that's something we generally don't know until we see the zones in action.

But overall, this feels like a very Horror-centric year. Now your milage may absolutely vary if you like that or not, myself I'm fine with it, but I can understand if one doesn't.

Mafia will definitely lean more towards silly I think, it's gangster mafia zombies! Plus the Party Zone will be there of course, but overall, yeah I do really like that this year seems much more horror-centric, with all the houses seemingly being played straight.

Yeah the originals this year all seem really scary. None of them I think on paper sound like they could be a comedy house. Very curious which one (IP or original) it will be !

This is an odd thing to say and it is absolutely based on first impressions and very limited info, but it feels like the originals will have a very limited color palette - lots of browns and greys. No brighter colored houses like Sweets or Bugs. Perhaps the artist house will have some splashes of color - but based on Goya…

on paper some of the originals kinda sound generic and repeats of older houses, it depends, cowboys, dolls, zombies, kinda sound like generic concepts but they could do something really interesting and unique.
they definitely sound scary and not funny. Artista and vikings sound scary too.

Has anyone else noticed over the last two years especially the names of the houses are kind of …. ridiculous? Lol.

Like it seems like they’re going with the most ridiculous, outlandish names possible.

On Reddit Pinhead mentioned how the comedy/action house is gonna be Hatchet and Chains and that'll have the most chaos and fun.

Like it seems like they’re going with the most ridiculous, outlandish names possible.

And yeah the names are uhh... interesting. Don't think it'll have much to do with the quality honestly but saying "Dolls: Play Dead", "Grave of Flesh", and "Jason Un1v3rse" out loud is semi-embarassing haha.

I get the sense that the A&D team lost some of its best copywriters as a result of the post-COVID bloodletting. Many of the Horror Nights titles and attraction descriptions haven't been especially great since the pandemic.

At the end of the day, though, a memorable name is a bonus, not a requirement for an all-timer. Gothic and Dead End had simple, blunt names, and they rocked.

Which I’d kind of expect with the complaints they’ve heard for years that HHN is too “watered down”/PG now. Not surprise that they’d show they can still get dark.

That said, I can think of at least two rumored zones I think are likely to be a bit of a lighter palate cleanser, if you will.

I literally spit all the water I was drinking down the front of my shirt when I saw this. I am just beside myself! I was already planning a trip to Vegas for theirs some time in January.. but this.. OMG! I'm sure it will be like a year before they get this open, so still doing Vegas.. but holy mother of god, my head almost exploded!

Wyatt Sicks have their title match on Smackdown tomorrow, and now with confirmation that Hollywood's getting an announcement tomorrow, I'm pretty confident it'll be WWE. Plus with Night of Champions (the next PLE (aka major live WWE event)) on Saturday, perfect opportunity to market it even more there while the whole world is watching.

I agree! There’s something about the name “Grave of Flesh” that I don’t like. It feels clunky and uninspired. Sounds like a placeholder title, or like one you’d find on a speculation map. I liked “Halmouth Cemetery” or whatever that was speculated for this better. Anyways the house itself sounds cool, but the name just doesn’t do it for me. I felt the same about Demon Queens and actually thought it was fake at first glance Lol. Just sounded so generic, which HHN is usually great at NOT being. I know this is so nitpicky and doesn’t actually matter but it’s definitely something I’ve noticed the past few years.

I read it as - it is a grave where there are monsters, so instead of being a place where bones rest, it is a place where flesh is devoured.
