I got a day at work in Pennsylvania. Everyone should calm down a bit lol

After all the years and years of speculation and waiting, it's INSANE that it's finally here. This park will be open just like USF, IOA, and every other park in Orlando are.

I've been awake since 330am on the west coast. Apparently sleep wasn't in the plans. My brain was like "wake up nerd! Epic is about to open!" I literally saw the opening hoopla stream on youtube at 5am, thankfully missing the hosted commentary :lmao:

The hosts on Infinity (Universal) Live Streaming this morning actually got teary eyed when the official opening happened a couple minutes ago. That said a lot....how involved the Universal team was in this new park...CONGRATULATIONS !!!

Cheers to everyone involved in this amazing project and this truly Epic journey to get here. I have chills even typing this message out! It’s OPEN!

Happy opening day to all! I’m watching from home and building excitement for my trip in July. I hope everyone there has a blast. I’m so grateful for the IU community, you all have made this such a fun ride

Outside of Ministry, which has a 300 minute queue, the wait times seem lower than mornings during previews. Currently in the Minecart Madness line and it’s posted at 25 mins but I’m pretty sure we’ll be on in less.

I’m currently in line for Mine Cart. I’ve done Unchained, Werewolf, and Mario Kart so far. I nearly cried walking into Nintendo even having seen all of it in pictures.

And this is after that heat wave we'd been having finally broke! The dew point is only 63°F Al, that's the best you can hope for for the next five months!

I’ve done Mario Kart and Mine Cart twice. About to eat a Mario Burger, do Yoshi twice, then explore.

Guessing that capping tickets available/sold (17,000) to only 50% of capacity (apx. 30,000 to 34,000) has helped make this a more comfortable opening for guests than if there was no cap on tickets.

We just rode Hiccups twice without leaving our seats. On the second ride there were only four of us in the entire train.

At 10am on opening day.

Sounding like there's no reason to purchase an Express Pass as long as the attendance is capped at 50% capacity.

I’m in line for Dragon Racers. Let me say I didn’t have Hiccup saying “Do a barrel roll!” on my bingo card :lmao:

Wondering how the wait times are so much lower than the last couple of preview days. Even with Ministry on standby, rides like Hiccup’s and MK were building pretty significant waits early on. Park seems pretty much dead today, Ministry aside.

I'm glad the UOR overlords chose to have a good experience for anyone in the park rather than trying to sell as many tickets as possible.

I'm sure it'll be great for social media advertising when people post overall positive things about their park experience.

Might not matter in the end if Ministry never opens.

They're probably not closing attractions down (for the day or temporarily) for minor and major adjustments like they were doing during previews. So today the mostly full menu of attractions is available. (Ministry always going to be questionable for a while).
