Nah. The repeat gimmick is unacceptable for Universal. This is an event that could fund itself from alcohol sales alone.

The scarecrow one is just speculation. We don't know even what's going on there. The Poltergeist stuff though, that seems like a lock in. I don't mind Poltergeist coming back but it's a little confusing to me. It's just a very random IP to bring back. I would've brought back Creepshow or UM: Frankenstein meets the Wolf Man before Poltergeist. But it seemed like a fun house at least. I just wonder how much they'll improve on it if at all. The black walls in that house looked very excessive from the POVs I've seen lol

Honestly, the black walls weren't as problematicly offensive as other houses of Hollywood's past. It had effective jump scares.

If they're doing repeats more regularly now I would love a redo of The Shining with their current no/fewer black walls philosophy.

I would love that and it might be the house that brings me over to HNNH. Unfortunately, King will never let it happen.

Who says? We already had it in 2017. It didn't require him then since he has a well-known dislike of the film his book spawned.

To my knowledge he had no idea of it till it was to late and once he found out about it he tried to stop it but it was already to late. Now that he’s aware of the “loophole” universal used he will be more able to stop it. That at least my thoughts on what I know and why I’ll never get my hopes up to see anything King :lmao:

Throwing out a theory as a bit caught me in interest. Especially in contemplating with the change in queue flow with SS15 with DND.

1744684130222.png

Can be wrong, but it looks like in comparison to how H-Lot North shot people infront of H-Lot South for Scarecrow's case (And like how it did similar things when it was the Texas tent), it seems they'll be shooting people out to the Super Nintendo World/SS15 side of the soundstage as opposed of having guests exit out into the side against the soundstage.

Personal speculation: I wonder if they might be doing a queue reconfiguration for both SS15 and T-Pad; using the smaller story that is Scarecrow to faclilitate the ability to do this. Allowing the area in-between SS15 and T-Pad to become a TM access point instead, and having guests hug the soundstage as they turn left to face the way up to Super Nintendo World's entrance.

With Fan Fest Nights having Super Nintendo World as a core part of event offerings, I wonder if the exclusivity for Day/Night is finally over for the sake of Nintendo. And in so doing, USH is in a position that requires them to redo the exit flow as a resultant of having Mushroom Kingdom operational during seasonal events going forward.

If that is right, then it would make sense to necessitate a change in exit configuration for T-Pad in the process (and in doing so, possibly SS15's queue configuration too if they follow the DnD Queue configuration that seems to be happening now.

This is all personal speculation; but I can see logic in this as a byproduct of them wanting to ensure they can get optimal space use. Especially if it allows say, a larger use of SS15's space to allow larger setpieces to be much more aptly in place going forward.

But that is ofcourse--my tea.

It could be all repeats, just give me one brand spanking new Scream maze and we're good. I might retire from HHN all together after that lmao Evil Dead OG or Resident Evil could be lure me back. I'll probably go to HHN forever, but if I were any poorer, I could see myself easily letting go of this event if post 2020 has been any indication. That's not me being negative, just understanding of where this event is going if it's not going to return to pre-2017 quality/IPs/crowds/prices, etc.. But again, that'd be if by weird circumstances I got more poor in life instead of rich lol as of now, my curiosity will always be piqued.

I'd be curious to see what Hollywood would do with Resident Evil, especially after the dumpster fire that Orlando had in 2013.

Sadly, I don't see that house happening for the west coast. Maybe FanFest though?

With Zach Cregger's RE film in the hands of Sony, I actually think it has a shot of popping up in HHN if the critical and commercial buzz is strong for it.

I agree that Horror Nights clears enough money that it shouldn’t ever need to repeat properties in back to back years. But my larger frustrations with late stage capitalism aside, I find a couple of repeats don’t materially change how much fun I have at the event.

For how, Horror Nights is still my favorite thing I do every year and I find it’s worth the high price I pay. Your mileage may vary, of course, but at this point I’m not focusing too much on the lineup as a bar for how much fun I’m going to have.

All events are going to announce the themed bars before the houses. Just so @Jake S can plan his haunt season accordingly.

2022 had like three repeats but I still really enjoyed that year despite my rock-bottom expectations. I’ll still enjoy this year.

If Murdy confirms Poltergeist is a complete revision then I’m game again.

same, I loved getting to do Halloween again (my #1 from 2015) and seeing as a fundamentally better and improved house of the 2015 one despite it not being better on a personal experience level, La Llorona was pretty much the best of the past and one I've never done so I loved being able to do it, the only letdown was Killer Klowns that felt like a downgrade from striped down ideas and some odd set design choices (that random pipe on the puppet scene)
for me repeats are nice, its a fun throwback like a Mario Kart Retro track and it is great for first timers, or even people who missed it in the past, (I know I want Krampus to be repeated (was forced to skip that one)), its really just that the improve the house rather than downgrade it.

If they were to bring back Krampus, I'd rather they just did a house for the 2014/2015 Dark Xmas SZ instead
