Eh. The material is there for the WWE thing. I’m looking at that idea as, it could be original stuff… or at least try to be. At this point, to me looks like HHN is trying to find “sponsors “ more and create a maze outta it. That’s what it seems at least with all these “horror” adjacent mazes. Not bad, just a new direction I am interested in.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head as to why this potential lineup doesn’t feel as horror-oriented as a good chunk of us prefer. Again, I’m sure this WWE house could be really good….I’d just rather they go for something more directly horror.

WWE would also have a whole bunch of restrictions. A certain level of violence probably wouldn't be allowed. Their wrestlers aren't even allowed to bleed anymore in effort to be more family friendly. A good chunk of the product appeals to kids under 13 -- if you thought Stranger Kids had kids at the event, you just wait.

Slash is coming back this year. I'm surprised because I thought after last year he was going to retire. But cool I guess

Slash and Murdy is a power-couple that makes sense for why they'd continue their collaborations and inputs.

I can see if UM is not an option (which it shouldn't be an option--it needs a year break and it'd cannibalize with Vegas), that he'd be a killer choice for Terrifier or the Tram. Terrifier would make sense on a merchandising standpoint as I could see a "Slash x Art merch collection" quite well.

At this point, I'm thinking it would be more likely for an original than an IP. Prior to the UCM, it seems like the music he did was primarily for original houses.

I still don’t get the refusal to believe that UCM is coming back. All clear logic dictates that it is, regardless of what spec says. It’s possible — no, it’s most likely — that spec is off.

People were really eager to count it out as soon as they had a bad entry.

I personally am of the believer of three things

- Universal Monsters as the centralized brand should have a one year break from HHN in light of the repeated use it has been for the past 6 years (We are at The Walking Dead level of consistency)
- With Universal Horror Unleashed in Vegas, and Dark Universe in Orlando; it makes more sense to let the permanent installations have the chance to shine for a period of time that'd be best suited
- There are other horror media from Universal that'd make for a better fit.

I once again think Nosferatu should be the chosen pick if they were to pull with that area. I think on a commercial sense and a critical sense; you will have people who will be fully down to see what Hollywood & Orlando does with Robert Egger's artistic visions; and that I think it'd be a good "respite" ahead of major anniversary years for Hollywood + Orlando.

That's more my two cents, speaking from someone who didn't like Frankenstein meets The Wolfman and Legends Collide, but actually vibed really well with Eternal Bloodlines.

This is all perfectly reasonable, but I don’t think it really aligns with how theme parks operate. When things are popular, they don’t pull back — they double, triple, quadruple down. So to say UCM needs a break because we’ve gotten it so many times, or because it’s being featured in other areas, is kinda contrary to the business model. Neither is an indication (let alone a reason) that we won’t get another UCM HHN house.

I’m fully open to the possibility that we won’t get a UCM house, but this Slash tidbit combined with the known fact that it’s an automatic IP for them just gives me every reason to think we will.

An important part of responsibly managing an intellectual property is knowing when to show restraint. Any IP is capable of suffering from oversaturation if it is utilized carelessly, rather than strategically. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe was the undisputed biggest media empire on the planet for a long time, a combination of inconsistent quality, and too many releases for fans to keep up with, has caused at least somewhat of a decline more recently.

I do firmly believe we will continue to see more Universal Monsters houses in the coming years, but now seems like the perfect time to give it a break at the event, especially as they as utilizing it in other big ways. Universal and the whole horror media industry have a lot to offer for the event, so it could be exciting to see them mix it up a bit.

Again, perfectly reasonable. I don’t disagree with any of this. It’s still not how theme parks operate.

Not anymore…. The past year WWE has started to shift away from that “pg” era. I wouldn’t put it past them to let universal make it as gory or scary as any other maze.

WWE house will be better than expected. This is exactly what happened with Insidious last year.

Well, nothing is "officially" coming to Halloween Horror Nights at this time, so I'm going to encourage everyone to pump the brakes.

Yeah no one should say anything with certainty until it’s announced. I did some digging and he claims to have a “friend who does houses for HHN” so take that for what it’s worth

If that's true - huge if - they're burning their source. I wouldn't trust them.
