I’d expect it to have a few scares to keep you on your toes, but I’d expect it to be much more action packed than outright terrifying.

I don't think that question is relevant anymore, I get the feeling we are now in the era of screens as set dressing they're being woven into the environments. They are no longer the sets.

I'd like to be in that era, but attractions like Mario Kart are still happening where key action and characters are on the screens and meanwhile the 3D sets are...set dressing.

MoM the ride wasn't open but he did get to walk through the building and said it was quite impressive. My old boss said Monsters pre-show is an attraction in itself though

So a less intense ; less scary forbidden journey ? That’s not what I pictured .

When will the inevitable “is it better then Haunted Mansion” question pop up. lol

I think it’s too early to say less intense - for most people who get motion sick on FJ it’s the screen dome carousels that trigger it, not the motion of the ride vehicles through the physical sets. It’s quite possible that the motion on Monsters is more intense than FJ, but the lack of simulator sections means that it doesn’t make people unwell, which would be a great outcome.

Scary is subjective and we only have the thoughts of one person so far. Let’s see what the general consensus is over the coming weeks.

I wouldn't say less scary. Will be very interested to see how a 7-8 year old reacts to the ride (or, frankly, the land itself).

I think Monsters will have manageable lines for this reason. High capacity + families self-selecting out of riding, I don’t see this getting crazy waits barring some breakdowns.

I certainly wouldn’t have gotten on as a kid lol

I just got home from the Preview, just want to know if I’m allowed to put my own review of the ride here under a spoiler tag?

Today we are thrilled to share a first glimpse of a project Imagineers have been working on since last year. Splash Mountain – at both Disneyland park in California and Magic Kingdom park in Florida – will soon be completely reimagined. The theme is inspired by an all-time favorite animated Disney film, “The Princess and the Frog.” We pick up this story after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring...
