I imagine that Disney's "go away green" and "blue sky blue" will still stand out compared to this.

This "Grrrr Grey" (yep I called it!) could very well blend in with the Darkmoor optics from ground view.

Yep they should just copy the current Mansion stone wall exterior over to those areas they are working on.

if they needed to put netting they should have adapted it as part of the design and made it look like it's part of the ride. trying to contain the werewolf or as part of the fencing or something

I’m sure they know what it looks like and may have a remedy in the future.

We need to wait and see before making a huge judgement.

Yeah, it's almost too much nettting...like they realized after they built the coaster that it was unsafe to have this close to people or something and had to do this as a last-minute thing.

I may end up loving the ride, but if this is the point, why make this the ride then? I’m worried Universal is too coaster friendly but nets everywhere isn’t my fav thing truly. Trying not to nit pick, but it’s a thing.

Because it'd take years to replace it at this point. We're under 100 days from opening.

I actually think the nets may add to the ride. The frame they make around it will make it actually feel faster than it really is.

Great Adventure’s two (not so great) Togo coasters (Ultra Twister and Viper) both had rings around their tracks and the visual of them passing by you as you rode made them feel much faster than they really were.

Counterpoint: Once we're in the land we won't care, because it will look much better from the ground and Universal Creative knows what it's doing and DEAR LORD WE'RE GETTING A FREAKING CLASSIC MONSTERS LAND AND IT LOOKS INCREDIBLE!!!!

I wonder how it’ll feel walking towards Helios flanked on both sides by unthemed backsides of park buildings. It could potentially take away from the “Grand” feeling they’re going for.

I think that may require some patience for the first year. There's a row of trees along the fenceline which implies to me it'll eventually cover that fence view.

That might be the case for the portion on the left side in this photo. On the right it doesn't look like anything there will grow tall enough to cover it and it's intentionally short so guests can get close and see the coaster whizz by.

CoasterFence.png

For VelociCoaster the imposing fences make sense for raptor containment. At the moment this appears out of place and gives a "tacked on" impression. Totally hyperbole here but if they were going to add this much fencing they should've just made it an indoor coaster. Can we go back to the tarps? lol

TempStructure.png

Right now I'd prefer if they at least made the temporary pathway cover underneath the track here permanent and removed the netting around this section.

I don't mind it either, though for a different reason. I think the way they've made the netting that it gives the ride track a creepy 'monstrous' look/atmosphere.

It's been implied to me that the safety nets are last-minute add-ons.

If that's the case, I understand the quick fix, but I hope they find a better way that adheres to the theme better. Maybe mystic tent covers?

The netting curving around sections of track is the less-visually-offensive element in question here. I think, anyway.

This, though...

I gather this was a very last-minute thing, but if those fence supports had been themed to look like wood (instead of industrial metal poles), that would have helped a great deal. As it is, it looks very, very tacky.

This was exactly my reaction. Without the nets, it's just an exposed roller coaster...not my favorite thing to see in a "theme" park. Tolerable, but something I accept more than embrace. I think the net supports are indeed creepy and it gives the coaster an unsettling vibe it didn't have. I'm fine with it (and I'm very particular about the tiniest aesthetic stuff). Speaking of which...

Totally agree, on the main net wall, these posts should look like wood posts (and it's still possible with a molded wrap and scenic painting). And the the bright chrome top bar definitely needs to be painted. But even better...instead of a straight horizontal bar (which gives this a high school baseball diamond feel), they should have been jagged, "savaged" bars evoking the slashing, shredding violence we'd expect of a werewolf. Again, easy to replace.

I was just about to say this is is an outdoor coaster at the end of the day. Not the pinnacle of the best theming Creative has to offer.

As visually unappealing it is, as long as the ride is good and enjoyable I'll get over it. Thankfully from the videos I've seen it looks like a lot of fun. So I'm sure it'll be be fine. Also they'll probably end up fixing it anyway. I don't see it lasting that long they'll probably come up with another fix
