As a recap of where we're at with this project.

Confirmed:
HRRR is closing in September
There will be 2 new buildings

Highly probable:
Intamin is the coaster manufacturer.

Probable:
It will be F&F themed
Given the size of the project area, it will be a fast coaster.
The entrance will be in the NY area.

Possible:
Might have similar elements to HRRR to keep the same skyline
Might use the same coaster system as Hollywood Drift

I can see the loop staying but idk about a top hat/ big drop though I could be wrong.

Never rode Mean Streak, but I have ridden Time Warp and Mighty Canadian Minebuster and those are far rougher and more uncomfortable than Rockit. Minebuster had me screaming and it wasn't the "I'm having fun" kind of screaming.

Wow, I remember that feeling as well. I was always drawn to ride it and each time was filled with immediate regret. Same with Son of Beast. When I rode Rockit, I didn't think that it was too rough but it was a good concept that didn't deliver. Going with Intamin or Mack (hopefully Intamin) should correct the initial design errors.

Half the coasters I rode the last time at Cedar point were rougher than RRR.

Including Magnum!

I'll just say I've never had a "bad" ride on RRR. I don't know whether I lucked out and kept getting the better trains or good seats. It was never a favorite, but I never thought it was a terrible ride.

Roughness aside, I also think Mauer Rides could’ve done more with the layout. Every time the ride gets exciting you’re slammed into one of the 14 or so break runs. They’re there to allow more trains on the track and increase capacity, but I think another manufacturer could’ve designed longer trains or different block zone configurations to avoid this.

I never understood the roughness of Rockit because I was randomly assigned front row probably my first three years of riding it. Needless to say I was shocked by the jackhammering when I was put somewhere else in the train.

Also does anyone have word on if the secret playlist still works? I rode somewhat recently and tried to do the secret playlist (which I’ve done before so I knew how to do it) and the ride op sees me holding the logo and comes over and says “Hey sorry that doesn’t work anymore.”

It still works, that ride operator was misinformed, I used it last Friday.

Even as someone who enjoys HRRR a lot, this is definitely my biggest criticism. It's like the roller coaster equivalent of a clip show.

I almost brought up Son of Beast as well... after the first pass through the bottom of the double helix I remember thinking I wanted off before we went back down into the second half of it.

The break runs are the biggest issue, and the thing I hope they fix the most in whatever comes next. Velocicoaster has such a satisfying and comfortable flow to it; HRRR jerks you into a stop after every big moment.

ESPECIALLY Magnum. One of my fav coasters in the past, it was almost unrideable last time. I really didn't think RRR was as bad, except for the hard stop, as some say. My rides were always OK, and better than some of these northeastern USA park's coasters that have greatly deteriorated over time. The only park where all the coasters are decent rides is Kennywood, and three of theirs are woodies almost a century old. Maintenance is a key.

If the new version has a larger guest capacity per train, we should see them reduce the number of brake runs. Rockit has to have brake runs every 20 -25 secs or so in order to keep capacity up due to the (relatively) small 12-person train.

When the ride stopped, I sat there for a few moments, looked at the next people in line and said DO NOT get on here if you want to keep your spine.

Have the opportunity to ride this a few more times before closing, but I think i'm going to make my last ride in september last year my last. Was stuck on one of the very top break runs for 30 minutes in the baking sun, then because we were towards the back we stopped at each additional break run for 5 minutes each for the other cascasding trains to exit.

Seems like a fitting last ride for me.

Everyone…well a lot of people I should say, seem to complain a lot about the roughness. While I’m not going to advocate to the ends of the Orlando swamps that this thing was smooth as butter, I don’t think it’s that bad. Maybe part of it is because I’ve been on it enough times to brace for the jarring, but I feel like it’s at the tolerable roughness point to where I can enjoy it.

I’ve been on MUCH rougher coaster that legitimately hurt like Ghostrider before the 2016 retrack and Mean Streak at Cedar Point. To this day, I have not ridden a coaster as awful as Mean Streak. It legit hurt my back for 30 min after riding. Even the Roller Coaster at New York New York at Vegas was right in that line between enjoyable and unpleasant.

But it’s all moot now. I enjoyed it while it was around, but I won’t cry over it leaving…especially since I’m confident whatever will replace it will be MUCH better. I’m just gonna miss the iconic lift hill and the select-your-own-track gimmick. Hey who knows: maybe they’ll bring the music gimmick back for this ride.

I will also miss the stuck-in-2008 feel for the ride. Looking at it reminds me of the glory days of YouTube Poop and Limewire.
Heheh, I remember getting into YouTube Poop in like 2012!

But yeah, I’m on the same boat. I never really had a bad ride on Rockit, and I’ve been on far rougher coasters! Time Warp and Flight Deck at Canada’s Wonderland were both so much worse than my worst Rockit ride. My last ride on Green Lantern at Six Flags Great Adventure was also much worse, giving me such a horrible head-banging experience I needed a break for half an hour before doing another coaster! (I will say, I sadistically enjoyed Mean Streak. Don’t know why. I feel like it’s because I braced for it haha. Steel Vengeance is so much better though)

I’m still holding out hope that Rockit’s replacement is either Back to the Future or Ghostbusters themed, and not F&F! I’ll still enjoy the replacement though if it’s F&F (but I better see Supercharged replaced then lol)!

I absolutely agree on RRR being FF Orlando Drift and MIB being Ghostbusters! Those changes would be 100% perfection!

As much as I love Wicked, I think a Wicked ride would really deserve to also have a surrounding area that could be converted/themed to Oz properly. I'm not sure I can envision them wanting to convert the San Francisco area to Oz. I could almost more see them taking an area like Lost Continent and converting it to Oz. Imagine a Wicked ride going in the area where Poseidon was. Imagine a much smaller-scale version of the musical (like a performance of the "best hits" of the Wicked songs) in the stage area where Sinbad was. That would be incredible!

I actually think Oz would be a great expansion for Epic Universe. It’s possibly one of the most famous universes in film and I think being able to walk through a portal into it would be really cool.

Oz and LOTR would be excellent additions to EU as those are both franchises that require complete immersion (or at least something close) that a land which can only be accessed through a portal would bring.

In an ideal world, I think USF should become to park for legacy as well as urban-centric properties, IOA should be the park for the action/adventure properties, and EU should be the park for hyper-immersive properties that require their own ‘universe’

What are some things we all think we can expect on this coaster, no matter the IP?
Big drops, a top hat, multiple inversions, theming (if any) atc?
