September 2025 closing is certainly a choice. I guess that means demolition will start after HHN, which to me says the replacement will be coming 2027 (probably summer).

I honestly expect demo to start in October. The September closing date means the replacement is being funded in fiscal year 2026.

EDIT - We can look to 2011 as precedent (SS44 and Transformers).

Wouldn't October demo effect HHN's soundstage lines? Unless you mean the sections closer to CityWalk that wouldn't be near house queues.

For reference: Dragon Challenge closed 4th September 2017 and the closure and replacement was announced 24th July 2017.

Oh believe me, I appreciate it. I spent a lot of money to fly across the country and ride Ka one last time. Don’t think I would do the same for Rockit, but I’m glad I’ll have an opportunity.

Most likely September/October to start demo of the RRR que line and surroundings. That won't affect the HHN houses too much as the houses are behind Music Plaza Stage. But that also lets them get a lot of heavy equipment and clearing done before Grinchmas comes in which currently routes through the courtyard of SS17. Now they could re-route the que line for Grinchmas very easily if they run into delays but Operations I'm sure would prefer to not change it if they don't have to.
Clear the courtyard by November and start behind Music Plaza Stage and or the NY Library corner. NYE may be interesting depending on how close to the backstage they get but all that can be worked around.

I agree. They should’ve done so much more. Why couldn’t they have a big event with fireworks and have Spielberg, DeCaprio, and Joe Biden and use drones in the sky to announce the date Rockit is closing? Followed by a 24 gun salute?

But seriously though, I think how they went about it was fine. I guess it would’ve been nice to have a short video to make it seem more offical?

Definitely possible, but it’s always been hard to tell how popular/unpopular a ride is by online fan communities alone.

It’s been here so long that it’s practically a park icon at this point, and it probably has some goodwill being a mainstay of HHN. Neither of these go to ride quality, but plenty of people love bad rides.
