Krampus would be a fun property to revisit.

- Fills the Cult IP slot. Also fills the Comedy IP slot to a lesser extent.
- Christmas theme, which is rare.
- Relatively easy to acquire.
- A great way to reuse props/elements from Frozen Empire.
- Recent advancements in puppetry/animatronics could make it a step up from 2016.

It would be better served as a Hollywood exclusive, but I wouldn't mind seeing it return to Orlando.

Although I agree that upgrades in puppetry would improve the house, I really don’t want to see Krampus again. It was already great back then and I don’t think bringing it back would make it that much better anyway. Keep Krampus in the last. It’s best left as a great memory we got to experience.

If we’re gonna repeat an IP from the past, I would say bring back either Silent Hill or American Werewolf. Now either one of those two would greatly benefit from advanced puppetry/AAs and boosted budget. I would love to see a true sound stage scale Silent Hill house in TWDA or AWiL with improved puppets/AAs, bigger sets, and no black walls. Although I enjoyed the original iterations of those houses, the potential for improvements would be so great, they would be worth repeating to make them really good houses.

If we're talking Christmas houses, I'd rather we see the UKC dolls used for Gremlins.

Yeah no point in Krampus when it was already a perfect house imo.

Better to redo houses where there was a clear budget issue holding it back (e.g. Evil Dead 2 to make up for AvED, Poltergeist, or The Shining redo).

Rather than being based on the Krampus film, I think an original take on the character of Krampus could make for a strong house at the event.

There have been many different horror interpretations of Krampus that differ from that movie, and Universal Orlando created an original design for the character at their All Hallows Boutique shop overlay, which some have wanted to be expanded on for a HHN house.

Sorry for diverting the thread a bit, but with all the Krampus talk, The Haunted Rose (in Whittier) will be doing a one night Krampus event Dec. 15. It'll be part display/event, and part walk-thru haunted house. We did their Halloween event this past October, and while the emphasis is more on mood and decor than jumpscares (and keep in mind it's a community/city event, so lower your expectations), we did have a good time for what it was. So it could be a way to get a Krampus fix.

Okay, now back to the topic. Still want Hellraiser.

While I personally don't have the need to do Krampus again right now (maybe in 2026, as a 10 years later thing), I could see them opting for that easily as a budget option any time in the near future.

Other IPs I could see returning:
American Werewolf in London - Sure, but it was nothing great the first time. Animatronics is not the way to go for this type of maze (as we saw, big creatures in AQP was a huge FAIL), they'd do these with puppets like they did in the past and nothing has advanced there. Also, maybe it's just me, but has the cult following for this film kind of...waned? Meanwhile, stuff from that era like The Thing feels like that fanbase is stronger than ever. I saw so many Reddit threads about that movie this year, but nothing about AWIL.

US - With the backlot experience nixed from the Terror Tram, there's a hole for some Jordan Peele horror in the parks proper. This was one of the best mazes and while prior it was in the Tram Plaze, I could see it easily being relocated to Curious George.

The Walking Dead - I KNOW. I KNOW, I KNOW, but let's think about this for a second. Last time Walking Dead proper as a maze was 2015 -- which will be 10 years ago (holy crap I am old) next year. 2016-2021 was "The Attraction" and like you all, I easily see those as "don't count." And to think...they really are ramping up these TWD shows as of late with so many spin offs. Will AMC want to get back in the game? Leftover "The Attraction" stuff laying around might make it an easy return for Universal's pockets in what I AM ASSUMING was a lackluster year income-wise.

Mazes I'd like to return but who knows:
TCM Back In Business - I know, we're SICK of TCM. But we just got remake Leatherface back in costume form and if I can ride that momentum and use that to get this maze back, I'll take it.

Silent Hill - Yes, I'd like another Silent Hill maze but they should definitely start over from scratch. The old maze was very confined. And while we could say things like "yeah in a soundstage and blah blah blah." we alllllllll know they never actually WILL utilize that space. The most I can hope for is throw it on the Curious George lot so it doesn't fall victim to the same ol layout The Mummy venue gives us.

Freddy vs. Jason - Some people want Freddy back, some want Jason. Porque no los dos? This was one of the best mazes in 2016. I'd be down for another go.

Did people really not like the AQP monsters? I thought they were fantastic. Not scary, but I spent as long as I could looking at each one, they were hypnotic. The maze was definitely shooting for something different than the others and wasn’t particularly scary, but the set design and technical mastery showcased was amazing.

I think the divide you’re seeing maps pretty neatly on to what you want the event to be. For those that miss or demand a return to a more scare/horror-focused event, I’d imagine these puppets not being “scary” is a dealbreaker.

I don’t know or think this is coming, but I would like to see Hollywood take a jab at a holiday defined Halloween house ala Trick or Treat at KSF. Witches and killer trick or treaters and boo sheet ghosts could be done very well with Murdy at the helm. To some extent, Titans of Terror did this and it was very cute - but I’m trying to think of this on a full length scale.

I wanna tread on this as I think eventually we will go back to The Walking Dead.

The big question I'd argue though--which version would we go back too? Would they want to try to bank on the nostalgia that came of AMC's adaptation of the original material, or would they work with Skybound to go further than that and to rope in the story of Lee and Clementine. I think we'll eventually return to TWD, and I wouldn't be shocked if it's sooner than later.

This would be a dynamite original, especially if done in the vein of Hell-O-Ween, All Hallow's Evil or the 2022 Terror Tram..

Yeah the traditional Halloween themes they've done have all been pretty spectacular. Still remember when I first saw the concept art for the sheet ghosts in Hell-O-Ween.

Speculating a small bit--but it seems they are taking their time with the dismantling of the facade for Monstruos.

Same can kind of be said for Dead Exposure, but there are external factors that are likely in play; but what if they might be taking their time in the process of the dismantling of the facade, to keep the parts needed for it to come back next year?

If memory serves, I could've sworn a similar process occured when La Llorona was brought back in 2012; that they used the same stuff from the facade of the 2011 version to save money.

...come on man. You're literally making a narrative in your head based off nothing? The facades for TLoU and Monstruos were still up this time last year. Also it's only been 2 weeks? Did you really expect the facades to be fully gone by now?

As someone who is more of a casual HHN fan who loves to speculate, no shame in having a little bit of fun when you can.

As someone who doesn't get the chance to frequent USH as often as I like, I don't typically see much in the element of the dismantling of the houses; but I simply just wondered on the prospect that Parisian Courtyard is predomimently the "Latin America" venue thanks in part to Dia De Los Muertos. (It's also the best facade they've had for Parisian Courtyard, so I would like to hope that it sticks around (kind of like why I loved the La Llorona facade).

I wouldn't mind this either. Having something that takes the simplicity of the concept of Halloween, and to turn it on it's head in a way that ventures uniquely from the works of what Knotts did, or of what Michael did with TrT; would be a fun idea. If for nothing else, to see what they do with the costuming.

Tbh, they always take their time dismantling the pieces that cost the team the most money. They wanna save some $$$ for the next year, even if it’s just a simple repurpose of walls, scenic or props. I wouldn’t look into it that much

That's totally fair too! More often than not I take the chance to not look into the aspect of the dismantling and deconstruction of HHN, and opt towards that of focusing on the park itself and what they do (Atleast until construction starts back up in Late February/Early March).
