Does anyone know how the hurricane impacted Epic Universe and its construction?

I'm sure Universal has been out to assess things, but I'd be really surprised if anyone (read: bioreconstruct) has taken to the skies so soon after Milton left town.

I'd imagine a few fallen trees and some very minor flooding, but Orlando didn't get much water thankfully.

Yeah, but I live closer to Epic and we thankfully didn't get hit too bad. No major flooding in roads unlike Ian that required a few detours in the area.

That’s good to hear. It could’ve been a lot worse for us here but thankfully we missed the brunt of it. Any one of those 125 tornado watches could’ve made a mess of the area. I was very concerned about that for myself but glad we made it out with minimal damage.

I’d have to imagine they have had hurricane plans in place since construction began, and this is a momentary hiccup. My biggest fear is trees that were just planted may have been damaged or need to be righted. Driving past today it looks like most of them I could see from Destination Parkway did OK.

This is already the second major hurricane to pass directly over the park. Ian caused flooding a couple years ago when the park was much less further along.

This post is for Ian in 2022, (but Bio is flying today so we may have aftermath from Milton to see later today):

Drove around Epic this week. First thing I noticed was all the lights on in parking lot and how big it is.

Space hotel exteriors look done, lot of work to do on pool areas though. Helios could only see from a distance but is stunning.

Was dark but looked like DK coaster is right on a road similar to how some IOA rides are.

I drove past Stella Nova and Terra Luna yesterday, they definitely stand out from the other chain hotels in the area.

Stella Nova and Terra Luna look a lot like the hotels in Boston’s Seaport neighborhood where I used to live. I think they look super cool, although the window design feels a lil less desirable on the inside.

not sure if it was the time of day when I drove by, but the windows do some odd reflecting, not sure if it was the cars driving by, but something was reflecting where I thought it had a waterfall looking effect....then I realized it was like a meteor shower.......rather distracting when driving by as I was trying to figure out what I was seeing.

I noticed a paved and striped parking lot off Test Road just to the west of Terra Luna Resort. Could this be the beginning of Universal's fourth hotel for Epic Universe? This is "Hotel Plot 5" on the Tommy Hawkins graphic and one of the roads on the site looks like an entrance loop.Screenshot_20241020-232104.png
