WDW pushed hard on mobile ordering the past couple of years. During the two weeks we were there in June, we rarely saw anyone picking up at the mobile area. Most everyone was back to using the old tried and true order lines that moved very quickly. A couple of times the mobile areas were so dead that they diverted the line ordering guests to get their orders at the deserted mobile area :nervous: . Keep it simple. The guests should come first without complicating stuff.

The last time we were there, we did mobile at FFB. The actual line was all the way through the switchbacks and out the door. I pulled out my phone just to see if that was better and it was really quick. Put my order in, went to the mobile pickup area and didn't wait more than a couple minutes. Only way to go imo.

I'm interpreting this room as the loading area, so I'd assume Tower of Terror style down the middle?

This could also be the entry point in the preshow area as well.

Ministry of Magic does not have a preshow. Information is rumored to be given to us by characters within the queue similar to Forbidden Journey.

The AR in the preview center gives us a little visualization for the load area too

Oh that's gonna be stunning.

Will there be two cars per ride then, like Rise?

Ah. Part of me thinks #3 won't be part of the actual final product of the ride. I think it's more for show for the concept art. Either way this is hands down the ride I'm most excited for at EU.

Somethings work out for the better and this current version looks and sounds a lot better than the original trackless concept. While we know Universal got cold feet on trackless tech due to Kong, another poster on WDWMagic claims another reason they moved to the current ride system was because the trackless setup had some limiting factors. They wanted something that could do more (presumably something that could really simulate motion, go up and down etc).

No, they alternate dispatches. We travel alone for the ride.

Correct. Just there to give you an idea of what happens next, but solid walls will prevent a view of them leaving load.

That makes sense, cause the old concept was described to me as “boring” and they certainly wanted to spice things up.

So how high can these ride vehicles actually extend upwards? I'd guess maybe 10-15 feet?

Maybe more like 8 to 10 ft

But it only has to be enough to create the initial momentum feeling of movement to match simulated motion on screens for up/down.

This just sound so overwhelming in a very good way. Seems like it could create amazing re-rides to take in everything.

Do we have a speculated ride time? I’m hoping 5:00 minutes for this personally.

Bar Moonshine was a total surprise to me!

A sports bar for Quidditch is a brilliant idea - TVs don't exist yet so could have a magical way to watch matches?

I actually many times used mobile ordering at Disney because the lines were long and I could get my food way faster via mobile ordering. If it is faster, I am all about it. I remember one time us using mobile and I got my food and the person who was originally in front of me in line when I got in and decided this was dumb was only halfway thru the line. What I find is the mobile ordering is no faster at Universal than counter.

One time it was almost instant (Captain America Diner), Three Broomsticks took awhile but I was happy to be seated and relaxing. We ordered a TON of food (The Great Feast) so I expected it might take a few extra minutes.

I thought it was only Christmas that caused our extremely long waits, but we went another Saturday and three broomsticks was busy, but not Christmas level and it still took forever. These style quick serve places will need to move faster or there is going to be an issue.

As long as there's an order line option I have no problem with the policy. If they would eliminate that aspect, I would opinion it's a bad mgt. decision. Catering to guests should always be prime to any procedure. Sometimes parks have been getting a little too crazy about phones. WDW has gotten lots of bad feedback and is backing off the reliance on phones. Tourists, especially, want a relaxing stress free vacation. It doesn't always happen, but mgt. should always focus on that aspect when making policy decisions.

I don't think they can take the order line away ever, but they can do what they do in HP land which is basically almost have a bouncer that stops you and if you don't have a good enough reason to order at counter won't let you go to the counter. I get annoyed, I don't need someone to tell me what do to. I always get 2 of our drinks at the counter as I want no ice (who puts ice in cider?!?) and so many times they step in front of me. It is rude.

I don't think they do that in Epic. They won't want to keep the tables occupied like that.

When we were at WDW in June for almost two weeks, and all our food was quick service, since that's the only kind of food the girls would eat, we never stood in line for more than a couple of minutes, and often it was just a straight walk up. And basically, just about everyone was using the regular order lines....and it was better for the girls since they generally wanted modified orders since they're so picky. No this on that and no that extra stuff...orders.

It's funny - because if I want a modified order I'd always rather do it on mobile order lol

I bet this is Orlando’s most popular ride on debut. It seems to fit any type of person for ride intensity, immersion, AA’s, scenery, story…… it sounds too well done and taken care of!

Hard for me to be excited about this land. And it is not even the JKR stuff. I just don't see myself being excited about this, and I visit diagon and get a butterbeer every single time I visit the parks.
