I would cry if we actually got a proper Silent Hill house done right. Absolutely love the franchise.
The 2012 house wasn't terrible, compared to 2013's Resident Evil featuring bad monster costumes & "dog on a stick"!

To be fair, it's NOT exclusively for HHN. It is listed for ALL marquee events (which it provides a list). Considering it is only March, it's too early for them to need a lead position filled for HHN.

And (as far as I can tell) it was a genuinely great house, one of the better 3D ones at that?
To be honest, a show would probably have a better chance at being good than the house. (Save for "SARMOTI!!!" which was an admirable e-prom.)

Nah, I thought that house was a crushing disappointment in a year of unfortunate misfires. You could tell Penn & Teller loved doing it, but it just didn't work.
Just for context for those not as familiar with Penn & Teller: These guys have a long-running residency in Vegas that sells very well and have played Broadway houses numerous times. There isn't a chance in hell they would commit to a 2-month long seasonal show commitment included with (already dirt cheap) Horror Nights tickets. They're too big.
That was an interesting year, to say the least…

That's the one I was struggling to remember!!
Except for the fact that before all that explosion of fame, they DID have an appearance at HHN in the 90s. Back when the event(s) were mostly show entertainment based.
