I could be wrong but I believe the show was filmed in New Mexico.

First episode was really good why make a show about the Bates Motel and not film the show where the movie was made?

The whole thing is being shot in  Aldergrove, British Columbia. ^because shooting in Canada is cheaper.

Yes after the fact i thought i cant be shot in New Mexico as there are no lakes to simulate Oregon. Wiki say Canada. Sad really as i wanted to visit the sets. Shows going great though do you think we can see other great shows based on universal properties?

I don't like the fact that they are making the whole town seem evil and all that that. It makes the Bates Motel seem meh and hardly anything happens AT the place it's still a good show so good that A&E ordered a second season just 4 episodes in. Hurry for them.
