How do stormtroopers make no sense in a battle of the first order ride?

The number of them in a scene, I mean.

I still don't see why though. Watch any Star Wars movie and there's always a large march of stormtroopers at some point.

A Stormtrooper also doesn’t need to be that advanced of an animatronic. 50 of them can make a lot of sense in the right context. Ever look at the background Presidents in Hall of Presidents? Some barely move.

Also from the article:
"On one lavish attraction, guests will board an Imperial Star Destroyer, where roughly 50 animatronic stormtroopers await in formation."

According to insiders and my talks with one, there will also be several other non-stormtrooper animatronics.

Bingo, Disney could put in three or four advanced AAs, a few moving ones, and the rest stationary to create a good effect.

Just make all of them turn their heads as they watch you leave.

That’s the extent of what Soldiers in formation are supposed to do (independently) anyway.

That piece of music is John Williams on total autopilot... which still means it's great!

It's very nice that they got him involved in a direct way.

Michael Giacchino.

He did quite a bit of music for the revamped Star Tours. Variations on Williams themes, but still.

But yeah, if you can get John Williams, you get John Williams.

Yup and that’s not even a bash at Universal and the HP coaster because they’re going to be great as well.

The real question is will it be better than just one of the Star Wars rides.

We’ll have to wait and see.

Remember when they showed off the Avatar AAs and everyone was sure they’d be all over the land, and then there was only one?

Good times.

Not saying that will be the case here, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

And let's remember a Storm trooper who's head turns side to side as he and his buddies move on a big platform is considered an AA.

I see less than 5 high level AAs in the ride. Ones like Olaf. The rest will be more like Anna and Elsa.

With the time placement of the land, and having to not completely ruin the finale of the Star Wars Saga before the last movie releases, I don't even expect any main character AAs. Perhaps Chewie and 3PO, but we've had a 3PO AA for decades.
