I mean really though…odds are we’re getting Kanto or something to do with Kanto. They used 3D World and Returns as a base cause they’re pretty close to the default image of Mario and Donkey Kong environments. I doubt they base it off one of the newer regions. Like close to 0 chance. Always bet on Kanto.

I expect Kanto Pokémon to be heavily featured like always. A location? Not nearly as important as some would think. We’re not talking about Hogsmeade or Mos Eisley here. As long as there’s a Pokémon Center, a PokéMart, and something else as a recognizable building (Lab? Gym?) most people would be satisfied.

How crazy would it be if it turned out this is what’s replacing Lost Continent?

I feel like the perfect spot for it is the comic strip town section of Toon Lagoon. Least popular section of the land? Check. Largest section of the land? Check. Enough room for a solid boat ride? Check.

I'm still surprised that Waterworld was never put in this space. Seemed like a perfect fit.

Construction walls have expanded in the Lost Continent at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, with a new section now installed directly in front of Poseidon’s Fury.

I still hopes this ends up being Zelda (or another IP that isn’t Pokemon). Spreading Nintendo around all 3 parks makes sense and Pokemon is easily the best option for USF.

I agree that Zelda would make perfect sense here for that reason. Plus the space lends itself naturally for Zelda.

There is one problem: That's ultimately Nintendo's call. It sounds like they want Zelda to be in the same park with the already existing Nintendo stuff.

This land never really was my favorite growing up, but I’ve acquired a lot for it as I got older. Days where I would wander the park by myself and find myself in Poseidon were some good memories.

Question: it’s been mentioned that demolition is going to happen, but construction on a new project may not happen immediately. Is that still true?

If it's what i think you are talking about, there was speculation/rumors that when Poseidon closed, it would be a while before they did anything with the land. Which is what ended up happening.

Kind of, but I thought I had heard something recently (on here) that even though demolition would begin, it didn’t mean that construction would immediately take place after. Maybe I’m remembering what you’re saying and just getting my stories crossed. I wouldn’t put it past me lol

Phooey. They couldn't have waited just two more weeks? Man, first, Disney closes Lake Buena Vista golf course the very DAY that I was going to play it and now Uni joins the fun by putting up these walls. I will now go sulk and think bad things about the universe conspiring against me.

Which is smart.

Much prefer all Nintendo to be at Epic versus a Potter situation.

Nintendo isn’t an IP though. Nintendo is a company with rights to several of the most prolific IPs in history. Mario alone is a bigger deal than Potter.

I still want it all at Epic.

That doesn’t change anything.
