FWIW the posters on WDWMagic have thrown out everything from Muppets courtyard 2.0 to a Fox IP land to Fortnite lmao

This bulldozes both the cast cafeteria and Club 33 (admittedly the crappiest of the four, but still).

Sounding like someone who has never been to Orlando's Springfield, lmao. I just don't ever see Disney doing anything with this IP beyond photo ops and M&Gs. Maybe in 15-20 years if it's still popular, but for now? There's no way they give it a full land or attraction. There's other IPs they need to put in the parks first and I don't see them priorizing Simpsons at all. Another problem with your argument is that this rumored announcement is supposed to be big. Something to get people talking and get attention away from Epic. Simpsons wouldn't do that AT ALL. It wouldn't move the needle not even one bit. I also don't think it's something people would be excited for. It's already been at USF/USH for nearly 20 years and people complain about it being at those parks. No matter how different they do it people just wouldn't care. It's a redundant IP and having it to come to the Disney parks right after (at least relatively after) would be a weird ass decision.

Taking this piece-meal as I can (forgive the delay, was at work).

In regards to the first bit--absolutely. Hoping to fix that in 2026 (if Springfield is still open by then) with a Orlando trip during HHN time. Second point, one of the major sticking points with The Simpsons was that it was a IP that was emphasized and highlighted when TWDC made the play to acquire 20th Century Film/TV.

There has also been talks last year that Al Jean's secret project in 20th Century I believe, is for The Simpsons Movie 2; so it isn't like Disney isn't wanting to expand the content flow of what comes out. I also think there's a sort of...dated timelessness that comes with the sake of The Simpsons. While newer content isn't on a scale of quality quite like that of the classics, the brand and the iconography of The Simpsons will always be iconic in modern American TV Animation.

A reason why I think the prospect of this being The Simpsons also lies with how the dismantling/detheming process will likely occur for that of the adjacent Springfields. To Orlando's credit in comparison to California's--the time and effort that will need to be taken to dismantle and remove any and all traces of Springfield will be as easy as a matter of likely 3-6 days. When they closed Spider-Man, given the smaller nature and lack of coverage; it didn't take much to remove any traces of that material in Japan.

In comparison to that, Hollywood's gonna be hell. For the genius I think our Springfield is, it is embedded as a core part of park infastructure and the iconography and visuals of the IP will need to take a more considerable amount (alongside that they are dealing with The Simpsons Ride likely being on terrain that will need to be regraded and redone in the process of bearing the weight of a 30+ year old structure). I think it might be easier to cut out the picture, if only to negate the potential timing window risks that comes with closing the land/ride in 2028.

Forgive the Essay, but I wanted to be more precise.

I wonder how easy it'd be to move the Cast Cafeteria and to upgrade the Club 33 experience.

I think it should be mentioned that Len posted shortly afterwards that he's only heard vague concepts as of now on what the AC project is.

So for me, there's a good chance that if anything is announced, it's not gonna' be really concrete. Just a "hey, this is coming (...eventually....)" kind of announcement.

That makes it seem like it'd be a "panic button" moment that's rooted with something that they can have the base elements thought of (But not of the full picture).

In it's nature if that's the case, that doesn't exactly sound like it'd be Zootopia to me, especially if it was a version of the SDL land (As that'd have basis and form (like what was the case with MK Tron, what you saw is what you saw for the most part)).

With Disney seemingly moving away from cloned lands between resorts, in the event Zootopia did come to DHS, it would undoubtedly pull from the second movie instead anyways.

With the current slate of projects announced at D23 2024 going through 2029-2030 for completion dates, I wonder where this land in AC would fit in timeline wise.

Nono, you got it wrong. Muppet-Vision is heading to Fortnite. Follow the money /s.

Anyways, I suspect Springfield bluesky for Courtyard and Uni follows up with Simpsons closing dates and officially stating that Pokémon is coming to Florida. If this holds up, I don't think Disney would announce something like this without the structure something like D23 and Destination D23 brings them. I suspect it'll be a killer app IP and it'll probably be Simpsons if it happens though.

Disney and Universal always have dueling announcements whenever, one or the other opens/announces something new. Just part and parcel of the Orlando rivalry.

Purely spit-balling but assuming Villains and Encanto locked, Moana fits better in MK or DAK (she does), and anything Frozen is limited to EPCOT/MK, I think the only IP that supports a full land and moves the needle with the fanbase in a meaningful way is ... Radiator Springs.

Completes the Pixar hattrick in DHS, effectively making it the Disney-Pixar Studios. Already well-received in Anaheim by both gen pop and online community. Sells a ton of merch (and food and drink). Let's Zaddy Josh look like a hero by "listening to the fans" re: Rivers of America.

Always thought it was the perfect locale for it originally.

Heck of an artificial win for Josh if that ends up happening lol

Agree. I know fans don't want clones, or at least hard-core theme park fans who would travel to either coast, don't. But Cars Land is a slam dunk general public "pleaser" that would feel so right for DHS. It delivers on the IP with a banger attraction.

The Cars attraction at MK is controversial, to say the least. But they could take all the development and move it over to Tomorrowland as a replacement for TS. It would be planetary rovers on a fantastical alien planet.

Then, assuming losing RoA is an unstoppable train at this point, they could replace RoA with an epic, exciting family boat attraction (Rivers of America 2.0) that offers dark ride moments and rapids moments, a new E-ticket that keeps a river there along with the frontier waterfront vibe.

This is the area (within yellow line) required to match DCA in scale, though layout would need some adjustment.DHA-CarsLand.png

I hope Disney is rethinking RoA or SeventyOne is right about Josh coming to the rescue and being hailed a zero lol

It'll (somewhat) naturally extend the Sunset Blvd neon lighting through route 66 and tall enough to hide the RNRC showbuilding. It'll allow for a loop between ToT and TSL, while adding physical capacity to the park.

People blame Josh but Iger has his hands all over these projects. I personally don’t have any ill will towards the guy since it seems like he is just in the position until he is promoted.

nothing, he's still fairly new and needs to prove himself.

The fact that they have been cutting back on Chapek-era stuff is positive though.

I don't want to defend him until his decisions are reflected in the parks, but there's hope.

True. Could you imagine the state of the Disney parks today, and the next three/four years, if Chapek was never forced out. I'd guess none of this new/coming stuff would exist.

Imagine the state of the parks is Staggs didn't push MM+/MagicBands and instead built rides...
