Whatever comes to this space, I really hope it’s not Potter expansion. I know UC gives their all with anything Potter but this would be way too much real estate for the franchise in this park when EU is opening with empty expansion space specifically for Potter.

If San Francisco is definitely getting scrapped and becoming part of another land, I’d much rather take New York. Ghostbusters anyone?

But it should become Amity.

Yes! PLEASE! A Ghostbusters shooter ride would be dope!

If they build a Ghostbusters shooter that would serve the purpose of MIB and then some, this would be the only way I would be okay with MIB leaving for new stuff.

If they go with a dark ride for the space, which seems to be the most likely IMO, and what I am personally hoping for, maybe USF can finally get something like SLOP but much bigger and with better less restrictive ride vehicles.

It would be cool to see the Ghostbusters walking around like The Blues Brothers. But neither the Blues Brothers nor the Ghostbusters have been in a good movie since the early 80s. I salute everyone who has sustained their voracious appetite for the franchise based on one good movie, one good show, and one good game released decades apart.

I thought Afterlife was pretty good. The franchise definitely still has legs, much more so than MIB.

Let’s shy away from “Blue Sky” ideas in this thread and keep it focused on what’s actually happening or rumored. Thanks!
By that logic, this thread would be empty because pretty much nothing has been rumored or has happened since this thread was created.

Recently, certain rumors about the ride's replacement/rework have gained more traction, so I figured that a thread would be a more appropriate place for these discussions than the Epic Universe thread.

Feel free to sound off about Knight Bus rumors, a new F&F ride, and whether M&B will go for any of these new additions.

It’s ok if the thread goes dormant for a bit til more rumors or news comes up.

F&F is so bad, and so negative to the park's value, that it doesn't deserve any breathing room of silence. If no public voices complain, it may survive forever....a truly horrid thought.
Agree 100%!

The general discussion thread hasn’t been active in a while, and I always found comedic gold when reading that.

Saw this wonderful Gabe Newell quote on video game development and it actually reminded me of the probable situation with Supercharged. We know it sucks, Universal knows it sucks, and I'm pretty sure the general public knows it sucks. It's going to get replaced one day, we know that too. The likely scenario however, is that Universal learned their lesson and does not want to shoehorn another rushed and bad attraction into this space, much like what they already did with Supercharged. If a good concept needs time to cook, so be it, I'm sure they learned their lesson in this space the first time around. It's a large space with a lot of potential, fingers crossed UC is taking their time to make sure it goes to good use.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Fast and Furious: Backlot Tour

Using the Hollywood Drift ride system, launch out of the building, barrel roll over the Hogwarts Express go down 5th Ave. hang a left just past the "NYC Library" then out to the CityWalk Lagoon and then back. Have on board audio of rock music and have Vin Diesel narrate the tour pointing out the Soundstages and other stuff. The preshows could be the F&F cast talking about how they make the movies.

Of course to do that you would have to remove HRRR.

Oh I love this.

Long time reader, first time posting.

I was thinking with the size of the building how about gutting it and slapping a Kuka arm under a 5-6 seat car. Especially if it's the Kuka arm coaster. Just imagine being able to speed around corners on two wells, being able to spin out at high speeds, being able to have a chase sequence where the car jumps between two buildings or even a scene where the car teeters on the side of a building before actually falling. Now that would be a fun Fast and Furious ride.

That building is so massive, we could have a shortened version of Hollywood Drift in that spot.

But my much cheaper pitch would be… Back To The Future: Time Bus!

Imagine the Supercharged bus tricked out with a big Mr. Fusion on the back and a Flux Capacitor.

Is it the best use of the IP: Hell no

Could Universal duplicate it for the Studio Tour: Hell yes they would

Better yet why not a BTTF indoor coaster? That would be a FAR better use of space than this.

Being realistic, F&F ride system will probably be reused at some point. Could create a new attraction in less than a year if Universal wanted to push something at USF quickly before they start working on larger replacements for Rockit, Simpsons, or whenever E.T. gets a decent refurbishment.

This would be the easiest retheme in the history of theme parks lol
