The R.I.P. Thread

So earlier today the legend known as Robin Williams had unexpectedly died.  :(

Movies he starred in like Hook, Aladdin, Jumanji, and Robots entertained me as a child, and continue to entertain me today.

Some of my other favorites included Mrs. Doubtfire, A.I., Happy Feet, and the Night at the Museum films.

And then this pops up on Twitter. Shame on ABC News.

RIP Mr. Williams.

I remember being at a friend's house when Michael Jackson passed away. They lived next door to his parents, and I ended up having to sleep over at their house for a good 2 days or so. Couldn't leave because paparazzi, news vehicles, and random people swarmed the streets. People have no respect for privacy these days.

Robin was a part of many people's childhood. This is truly a sad day.

I'm so sad about Robin's passing. I saw someone mention it and didn't believe them. I was so shocked about it that my arms literally went numb as I was reading news articles.

He was such a big part of my childhood and such a huge inspiration to me. Such a sad, sad day. It just goes to show you that even the most talented, loved, successful people can still be broken on the inside.

I enjoyed so many of his roles, but one that always stood out to me was one of his lesser known roles, as Batty Koda from Ferngully. I was obsessed with him as a kid, and the voice and personlity that Robin gave to him was a huge reason why.

I took some time today to draw Batty as a tribute to Robin.

With the passing of Robin and Mickey Rooney, the new Night at the Museum is going to be bittersweet.

To me, Robin Williams is a legend that cannot be missed, for some, we never have laughed as hard in his stand-up shows, we never had a friend like him, and his contributions have made him a Hollywood Legend in his own right. I was thinking it was a joke but I standed otherwise.. I was shocked I had to personally just stop what I was doing but.. I just hope hes in a better place..

Lord Richard Attenborough has passed.

His performance in Jurassic Park along with the quotes, "Welcome to Jurassic Park" and "Spared no expense" will never be forgotten.

:( RIP.

Hopefully Jurassic World pays some sort of tribute to this magnificent actor.

RIP to those 50 victims who died the other night in the Pulse Orlando shooting. I almost called out of work today because I wasn't in the mood to deal with people, but I needed the hours/money. The names of the victims are slowly trickling in, one of them was a Universal Orlando employee. I didn't know him personally, but many of my friends worked with him. He worked at Forbidden Journey (and Disaster). Apparently Universal shut down FJ as a sign of mourning to those who worked with him.

JK Rowling even tweeted about him....

And keep the other 53 injured victims in your prayers, as well as those who lost someone.

It's meaningful and touching that you've posted this on here. Such a hard day to get through. Thanks for taking the time to share this, it puts a face to the tragedy, I'm way out on the west coast with my wife and daughter, but we know a decent amount of people and friends in the community, it makes no sense.

Today Tower of Terror will be closing. Tower of Terror in California has been operating since 2004. This incredible ride has a queue equally as impressive as the ride itself. With the tall facade that towers over Buena Vista Street to the ominous light it gives off during the night. I have full trust in Disney imagineers and especially Joe Rohde to amaze us with Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout. Thank you for 12 amazing years of this ride. You will forever be missed TOT! You have been an incredible inspiration to me with the incredible detail in the lobby to the cold pipes of the basement. RIP TOT and welcome GOTG Mission Breakout.
