They really should put something in that giant empty area on the ride. Looking at the concept art I guess it wasn't even supposed to have a structure ever, but seeing photos of it, it has the energy of having a small furniture in a large room. Very sad looking

The decals are nice though!

There are 3 large areas of water. One has the large water balloon minion display- which is great.

The other two have nothing.
The one at the entrance is more egregious than the view from SpongeBob. I’ve said it in this thread before, but a mini-bellagio style water fountain there should absolutely happen. Preferably with lights if they’re doing these later hours.

Should have been done day one but maybe they can address it during the winter closure.

I’ll let @Diservations post the rest of his pics- but Halloween decorations have started to go up.

Signage saying their “Halloween celebration” will be October 2-November 1. Nothing officially announced but according to Diservations, there will be 4 Halloween specific shows a day on and around that stage.
I would guess something minor, but good to see them start putting up stuff. Here’s hoping for seasonal food/drink offerings.

Thanks for the plug @Andysol! The entertainment TMs are excited about the show, so I'm hopeful it'll be a fun one. I'd also love it if they let the kids go trick-or-treating in the park.

Very nice to see them leaning into seasonal events like this. Parks at a similar local scale usually live and breathe off these types of offerings. I hope it all goes well.

Are the fall decorations going to extend outside the plaza? Or do we not know the extent/scope of this quite yet?

one of the consequences of a fully outdoor park.

Note- it’s just rain, for those interested. But an expected 3”+ for the day and not a light rain.

You might get your wish with it raining like it is today.

The park does have two drainage issues already- both under each roller coaster.

The JP one isn’t as bad as trolls- it just holds water and will take a few days to dry out and makes a mess of the mulch and planting.

But the trolls one is so bad it just goes septic. This is because the runoff from the minions splash area as you enter the minion island. It runs off and has turned half of the trolls coaster into an algae growing area that has quite the odor. Curious what it looks like today- likely a swamp.

Hoping this is one of the areas addressed during the extended closure because the only other way (and easier way) to fix it is to shut off the water feature. But we don’t want that.

And park has been at capacity for several days.

The bulk of the area is on fall break this week so hopefully it stays full throughout.

Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks will for sure be completely slammed. Good to see them finding ways to bring seasonal fun to the parks.

They have plenty of time to figure out next summer because they aren’t going to want to live in the current feast or famine state.

When I pulled up yesterday around 1, I couldn't believe how packed the parking lot was. They even ran out of Jack Horner Wraps. Was nice being able to grab some pizza fries, but I really had my heart set on that wrap.

Anyway, despite how packed it was, my girlfriend had been there with her nieces and nephews since opening. They said the lines weren't bad at all and mostly walked onto everything or only waited 10 minutes. The kids tapped out around 4 but the two of us decided to ride the Minions before leaving. 40 minute wait and the queue was just about to the ride entrance. With a 6 PM close, it seemed like people were sticking around for the full day.

Tuesday was the slowest of the five-day fall break, but it was still a nice crowd. Over the weekend, Minions reached 80 minutes for a short time. The two coasters were just under an hour most of the time.

We were told Saturday had close to 7000 guests.

I can’t imagine how packed those restaurants must have been.

Be nice to the counter worker and see if they will give you some birria sauce on the side to dip it in.

Thank me later.
