Hollywood is def the better of the two, but that “worst ever” take is certainly a take…

I just watched a video and sure its better in person but.....hot dam

No idea what happened here, Hollywood just choose better moments to highlight and to tell the story in a better way

I think if I saw Orlando's with no comparison I'd be like cool but seeing how we got out moments in USH...its just hard to watch like some of the scenes just feel too small

Also does anyone know why USH didn't tell Orlando about how to do the glowing eyes....does Universal really not have the someone on both teams talking to each other?

it's just that compared to hellraiser which is next door, Hellraiser feels like a real movie set ( hellraiser was Such a magnificent translation of the movies, but sinners is missing so much.)
you leave hellraiser feeling so amazed, feeling scared, there's so much detail,

and people are having a lot of problems with madlands, but for me personally madlands is much much better. (invasion is much more fun too)

when I did madlands and invasion, those were so entertaining, they have awesome effects, the actors in madlands are really aggressive. they're always going crazy,
those sets are so huge, each madlands room is so unique
(sinners feels the opposite, Sinners kind of felt unfinished to be honest, like if there were elements missing, the rooms felt unfinished. some rooms were very minimal.)

when I say * sinners one of the worst movie houses* it's just compared to universal's usual level of quality.
I don't remember a movie house feeling this disappointing before. maybe Blumhouse? but Blumhouse was fun.

(when the PURGE replaced SCREAM, that's one house people complained about and disliked so much) that PURGE house was really good in my opinion I loved that PURGE house. I remember having a great time with Purge.
but people disliked it so much.

Enjoyed this house quite a bit, but WOW this felt short. This felt even quicker than Triplets of Terror.

Also, idk why people are saying it's not, but..
Pick Poor Robin Clean definitely plays as you're approaching Club Juke

I don't know if this is a spoiler, is not but I'll spoiler it

there was One scene where there are about 3 of 4 vampire mannequins on a second floor looking down at you, and their eyes "might" be glowing,
but the effect is really bad. I don't wanna sound so negative but the lighting for this room is pretty bad and the mannequins don't look that great. they looked really fake. theres too much light on them.
their eyes just kinda look light yellow
it would have worked better if their eyes had glowing lights and the lighting for the room was darker.
(if they had glowing lightbulbs for eyes then it didn't look good. )

obviously I wish the actors had glowing eyes.

I'm sure I'll learn to like this house I hope,
but yes it's very very short and the rooms kinda feel unfinished. I know this is not the case, but it almost felt like they had the budget cut or they ran out of budget when designing this.
some rooms feel very minimal. very little details.

I’m not sure what to think about this house. Darkest Deal pulled a similar concept fantastically… this sort of just falls flat?

one thing I notice is that the rooms here are kind of wide and kind of big but then they have little detail, (that's the opposite of darkest deal) darkest deal was more claustrophobic and had more variety in rooms and decorations. you visited different areas. the ending is literally hell. the house was full of little details. it had beautiful rooms that were creepy.
with Sinners, it's feels more like the same room over and over. this might all be studio mandated but there's not as much variety.

Have you seen any POVs of the Hollywood version? Because I think that pretty much puts to bed this theory.

oh that's true, I haven't seen it yet, I only know of their glowing eyes. I'll watch it now.
the other thing I wonder is just if it was a budget issue. it just Feels Incomplete... 2 or 3 times in this house I felt like something was missing, props or something. I'll have to visit it again to analyze more,
I might have to rewatch the movie. but it just feels incomplete.

I had an amazing run through it on Friday that put it at the top of my house list. Went again Sunday and it was just ok. It felt like I was getting a lot of scares and people were popping out everywhere the first time.

Honestly, the first time I went through this in Orlando I just thought it was ok.. nothing really great, nothing really special. I felt there was a lot of missed opportunity. THEN, we went to Hollywood last weekend. I normally don't travel for both coasts (I am an Orlando girl all the way), but... Ozzy. So, we went to Hollywood, and let me say - their Sinners house is AMAZING. It is EXACTLY what I was hoping a Sinners house would be. The effects were fantastic (the glowing eyes and the fireflies were top notch), the scenes they chose to highlight were all the ones you hoped they would choose, and I felt like the music was featured more and done properly there. Now, I don't even know if I can go through Sinners in Orlando again, and my round of trips starts tomorrow (x4). <sigh> Glad I got to see the other version of this. Very satisfying. The few times I've gone to both coasts, Orlando is always, hands down, the better event.. but they missed with Sinners.

really sorry but for me, this was not only the worst house of this year so far, but one of the worst movie houses I've ever seen. I'm sorry but this felt like a bush gardens house or something.
(just very minimalistic sets, generic scenes, repetitive rooms, not scary. )
the actors are trying their best, but, it's a very disappointing house, there are so many parts of the movie missing, simple things too, I'm sorry but It wasn't good.

this was the complete opposite of Hellraiser.... which is ironic since they are next to each other,

tonight near the end, hellraiser was at 10 minutes (walk on), sinners was 40, just goes to show you how beloved sinners is as a property, it seems to always have higher waits.

I wouldn't call it the worst house of the year personally when Stranger Things is..right there (sorry, ST!) but I get what you mean by disappointment. The movie was so awesome that a house had so much potential. I wouldn't call it downright terrible personally but it does pale in comparison to what it could've been and what Hollywood actually accomplished based off the YouTube videos I've seen. They seemed to really get the attention to detail there that Orlando just...didn't.

I think had Orlando gotten the glowing red eyes that Hollywood did it would've taken it from a light 6 to a 9 personally. That and the intro in Hollywood with the music montage that really set it apart. So, I agree, it is disappointing when the expectations were at such an all-time high and with great source material. Hollywood was able to knock it out of the park, I'm not sure why Orlando couldn't seem to match the level of detail :(.

two times that stranger things awed me and surprised me
the room where the "snow " is falling is kinda beautiful and very big. it's simple but to me that snow/ash falling felt so beautiful.

also the giant room with Will attacking one demogorgon. and the second demogorgon on top of the moving car looked amazing. that room is so great.

nothing in sinners looked that cool for me.

Okay… this is just a muddy house. For something recreating such a specific narrative, they really made it kinda hard to follow what is happening.

The glowing red eyes wouldn’t have helped this house.

Storytelling-wise..I agree no, of course it wouldn't improve it and it is really hard to follow especially for people who haven't seen the movie...however...aesthetically, it would've made it a lot cooler/scarier :lmao:

with how dark it is in some places and the flashing of lights that goes on ,
a couple vampires look like regular people.

that's why glowing eyes would have worked better. at least it would have been freaky looking and cool.
that's something that looked great in Hollywood from the videos.
the glowing eyes could have made a huge difference. it would be uncomfortably creepy.

( evil dead also has that problem of a few actors looking like regular people but that house works better, maybe it's the actors or just the lighting)

My biggest issue is, legitimately, the lack of “build.”

Having Club Juke already be on fire during “Lied to You” is a simple, but rather grievous mistake. It enhances the “intensity” of the Club Juke scenes, sure. But because of it, there is not climaxing or growth throughout the narrative. A lot of storytelling, and intensity, in creating a “haunted house” is wasted.

Compare that to Burn, where the house catching on fire has a narrative point and establishes a since of build to the last half of the house, it shows how ill-conceived the choice was.

You nailed this Legacy. I think this was another reason I preferred the Hollywood house - they progressed the house the same as the movie - whereas, in Orlando, you get vampires right at the begining. Why? Why wasn't there a build-up? I get that it's a "haunted house" and therefore, there needs to be some kind of monster or demon or whatever, but it's still a story that deserved to be told the way it was presented in the movie. The buildup is important. Orlando just bombed with this.
