So Cal
Some background, Transformers broke down and I e-mailed USH and they responded with 2 FOTLs and food/drink vouchers. Also, if you want to see more construction pics first, scroll down to June 7th, then read the rest.

So I visited USH on June 5th (or 4th..) at about midday.

What used to be Fung Lum, now what will be the new 500 room hotel (also my finger)

I was too cheap to pay for 15$ parking, so I waited for the shuttle.

Remember those FOTLs and food vouchers? I went to Guest Services to redeem them and not only did I get the FOTLs, but:

UNIVERSAL DOLLARS! I never knew about these things, but these are 2002 issues so I assume they are pretty rare nowadays. I got 20$ in them, by the way.

I believe this is Hogsmeade due to the pointy roofs, but I'm  not completely sure.

I've never actually been to Animal Actors, this was my first time. The show was ok, I suppose.

I really like USH's themed city streets. Although, the DM:MM show building sticks out like a sore thumb  <_<

I was lucky enough to go to SSFL when they were filming a commercial (that was on June 7th)

And a tasty freeze ray smoothie. When I paid for thus in Uni $, the cashier said she hadn't seen those in 15 years, thankfully she still remembered how to sue them. The smoothie itself was nice, although a bit tingy. It was around $4.79, although you do get a souvenir cup.

And the worst ride in the whole park. Anyone know why the red carpet was blocked?

And down through the boredom that is the StarWay. Same music every time. However, there is some scaffolding on the side of it. Any ideas?

Uncle Snoop ridin Jurrasic park!

I saw series specific replicas, (for example a Optimus bust at TF) scattered around the park. Have these always been there? I've never seen em before.

On to my fav ride! :)

The employees were amazing! They were making (good) jokes, getting the riders pumped, having dance competitions between the people waiting in line, the winner getting a FOTL pass, it was great. One of the things I love about USH. Also, I saw NO blocky projection whatsoever! Props to USH for this. I hope it stays that way.

With my remaining Universal $, I bought a cool TF Mug.

And the trusty occupy Universal guy. Blocked his face for security reasons, but you all know what he looks like.

June 7th

I was in the Hollywood area, so I took a quick trip (After 1 day, I know, crazy) to USH. Here's some full-res construction pics:

That's it for this time, all in all, (this will sound horribly cliche) 2 great days at my favorite theme park in the world.

That freeze ray smoothie is orange? I got it looking yellow both times I was there this week. First time I ever bought one, I got something like a float, with Sprite up to half the cup and the "whip" was frozen. It had a real sweet, strange tangy mango-ish taste and I thought it was supposed to taste that way. The second time I bought one it actually tasted like banana and was significantly better than what I got the first time. Also, I won't get it from Gru's Lab Cafe anymore. I noticed you get more buying it from the small shop next to the orphanage.

Anyway, Transformers was down when I was there one day too. That ride is slowly growing on me.

I have no idea about the smoothie thing, I've never eaten at Gru's cafe. I really like the one at Despicable Treats (the small shop) though it was mango, I love mango, so it was good. And I'm glad transformers is growing on you :)

I can answer a few questions:

1) Hogsmeade roofs = pointy, Springfield roofs = boxy.

2) Krusty's tongue happened to be in refurbishment the day you went. Happens from time to time.

3) Yes, the Transformers busts are new. Available in every store in the park (except Kwik-E-Mart, Cartooniversal, and Super Silly Stuff).

Oh, and my Freeze Ray Smoothie encounters have been rather inconsistent as well. Sometimes too much Sprite, sometimes no Sprite at all, sometimes perfectly swirled, sometimes a gloppy mess.. It's a work in progress, clearly.

That last pic doesn't look like the Occupy Universal guy. His placard says he's running for union president.
Occupy Uni was on the other side.

Thanks William, never knew Krustys tongue needed a refurb. Seems Universal would let it decay.
