yeah that's what I'm thinking. they could have made the ai voice more evil. ( not evil sounding specifically but more evil lines)
this house could just have had the opportunity to warn and scare people of ai itself and not just the gory operations.
the ai voice could have been describing itself more evil.

Yeah I thought it was clear that it isn't an evil AI, it's that the program just isn't actually thinking but going through the motions no matter how terrible they are.

The fact the voice is detached and lifeless is intentional. And I thought that was great.

that's the missed opportunity I was talking about,
it could have been better if it was evil because as it is, the AI is like benevolent but misguided lol

I thought of it more as HAL 9000 or GLaDOS from Portal based on the description and the flat presentation of the voice in the walkthrough I saw

Also, I personally think it’s scarier that the computer THINKS it is doing the right thing and it is just following its programming. The idea that we as humans cannot foresee how what seem to us to be good directives, the sorts we would be able to figure out thanks to empathy and human emotion, could be twisted in such a fashion is pretty scary

I agree with you. It would've been a bold take I would've really respected but unfortunately I doubt the parks are willing to be that bold.

Okay, got it!

You want to achieve immortality. This is a very ambitious goal— very few people have achieved it. In order to do so, many changes need to be made to your body in order to prevent decay or aging.

Necessary Steps
  • Replacing biological components with metal. Biological substances tend to decay due to natural processes such as decomposition. In order to prevent this, biological components need to be replaced with metal or plastic, which are much more resistant to microorganisms,

I mean for a company of this size to take an explicitly anti-AI stance as socio-political commentary would be bold. Maybe I misread what OP was saying. Haven't done the house yet but I thought the argument was over depicting AI as evil v. benevolent but misguided. My point is if a company of this size had a storyline explicitly portraying AI was evil would be bold and a surprising move I would have respected for having the guts to say it.

Oh, it is. Aiello outright said it is a take on AI. (Check the Cybergoria part at 18:08)

My understanding of the OP was that it needed to sound evil to convey that.

I may have overthought this a bit

As in, why WOULD it have an evil voice?

Two options:

1. The company gave it an evil voice (which seems antithetical for a corporation to do when trying to make money)

Or

2. It chose an evil voice for itself (which implies it KNOWS it is being evil and it’s not just a machine performing its programming)

To me, neither makes sense for the story they are attempting to convey

This is the thing. An AI wouldn’t “know” it’s evil, because AI doesn’t “know” anything. It just responds to a directive. And if it just responds to a directive, AI is not ever inherently evil. The “dangers” of AI “going rogue” is related to humanity developing something it doesn’t fully understand and providing a directive that doesn’t properly foresee what the end result ultimately has to be (hubris is a helluva drug). Skynet isn’t evil. Skynet attempts to eliminate all conflict by eliminating the cause of all conflict as the ultimate defense. The AI in Cybergoria creates immortality by bypassing the parts of humanity that will fail - the body. Those are the prompts. That’s what it gives.

I’m all for this location being the “intense” house every year following Jason in 34 and now this. My early number 1 so far just ahead of Hellraiser.

Sounds like F&F will just get a retheme basically, so this location should be safe.

I feel like for most of the 2010s, sprung 1 (aka the southernmost) was reserved for the most intense house.

So it's along the lines of Child's Play 2019?

He wasn't evil, he was just so driven to be Andy's best friend that he had to destroy anything that hurt him lol

There's a classic thought experiment about an AI that's told to maximize output of paperclips, and without any other restrictions the AI ends up blowing up the world to get more natural resources to make paperclips with. This is probably operating on a similar logic. The AI is told to make people immortal but it doesn't get that people don't want to be immortal if they're gonna be basically corpses kept alive by tubes.
