Future of Dragon Challenge?

According to your profile, you are 17 years old. So are you saying you had Kong inside info when you were 12?

Actually yes....my friends dad was the lead construction manager XD. And yes I joined back in 2016. I said I wasn't on the forums, I posted it on twitter and got the same heat ya'll are giving me now.

There won't be a big coaster. I expect the kiddy coaster being transplanted to the Forbidden Forest area to free up viewing space for the Hogwarts castle projection show and to get that bottleneck fixed. It gives more room to the stage shows too.
The forbidden forest will be a huge people eater family ride mixing creatures from Fantastical Beasts with the famous forest setting.

Guys, I love B&M hypers to death but there's one literally just down the road. Put me in the ambivalent on this for now.

You are talking about a park that built Transformers a few hundred feet from Spiderman. Another Hyper in the market doesn't bother me, nor should they limit themselves by what some other company builds. I think it actually makes more sense than a Wing or other inverting coaster from a ride lineup perspective, since Hulk is in the same park. And Hypers are possibly the most popular type of coasters in traditional amusement parks. So the idea of putting a Hyper in does make sense on some level. I just have problems with the location as it really doesn't work for a Hyper. Unless they are going to shoot it out into backstage, which I really can't see either.

Personally curious, wasn't there someone saying from Iaapa that Universal bought some items from Dynamic?

Personally, if they are doing a coaster; I think that while it wouldn't be a worlds first, getting the SFX coaster would be a win for them and that it'd allow them to have a high-thrill indoor coaster with the ability to tell a story.

Just thinking out of thought.

They aren't moving the hippogriff anywhere.

I don't see that either, as much as I'd rather want to see a simple retrack to be more in-line of the Mack Powerstar that us in Hollywood has.

I think it will be a massive sfx coaster, it is known Dynamic has a huge contract for a ride that may be cloned to other parks. Not sure about it being a hyper though, multi-launch makes more sense, especially since I think this will be highly themed like some of the coasters in Phantasialand. Sacrificing part of LC would make sense also, and whatever remains of the land then, can eventually be used for a Seuss expansion.

They could call it "Poseidon's Fury"????? :lmao::lmao:

Ironically I knew the lead construction manager on that also. I knew it was transformers before they started demolition on the SS. I wasn't on these forums tho then lol.

Please understand you don't need insider info for us to like you

If, IF, this is true, it doesn't mean the ride will be "in" the Wizarding World. Could be in Lost Continent.
A Mythologoy hyper coaster is something I need in my life

So link the Twitter posts here.
They were on an old account. I've had 3 accounts and the old one was wiped. I'm dead serious...the account WAS @AlterMatthew. Listen I know a lot of you aren't going to believe me and it's fine. But no need to degrade me. I'm surprised that Alexshow doesn't believe me considering I've known him for years and he knows I have connections. Honestly I regret posting about it at this point.

Just got official confirmation that Dragon challenge IS closing this fall, and will be part of an expansion over The Lost Continent. It will be opening the same year as Nintendo to try and stomp out all the Star Wars hype. And YES it will be replaced by a coaster. And believe it or not....it's a hyper coaster.
Since Nintendo isn't going to open until 2020 at the earliest, I don't see how that's "stomping out the star wars hype".

Even if it was true.

All I know is that if DC does get torn down I for one will NOT be disappointed in the slightest. The ride was great back in the day when the trains were synchronized, but that's never coming back. Also it's a very rough ride now, the last time I rode someone in my group threw up her butterbeer in the bushes just outside the station. Haha! It takes up so much space. I'd much rather see a dark ride there.

I love love love Dragon Challenge....when they were dueling, it brings back memories of me being a 14 year old kid, enjoying the hell out of Islands.

But now? They're just two older coasters sadly. I went in Sept 2016 and felt drunk afterwards. I am a huge coaster junkie and only 29 at the time, so I knew that ride was just brutally rough. I hate to say it, but I agree, a newer dark ride is more than welcomed there for sure!

I too felt a bit tipsy the last time I got off DC.

But now that I think about it, it may have been the 2 hours we spent at the Hog's Head before riding that caused the tipsyness.

I wish mine was the delicious wizard beer, my 8 year old at the time was like "lets do it again!!!" and the line was short (I know why) and my wife was like "have fun boys im not riding that again"

The second time felt like a lobotomy. My son was even like "eh ok no more dragon rides for a while"
